I think you've got a bug with the map. I acquired one and now it seems items are randomly turning into more maps. I currently have 12. Unless this is supposed to happen because maps are cool.

how did a game as buggy as this get badges? if you reload the game at the drawbridge you spawn in the sky, reloading also makes the candy reappear which you can keep eating and losing teeth, and if you walk to the right of the three doors you fall off the screen and have to reload

I had already finished area 1 when the badges were released, finished the game, and was only awarded the second badge. So if you were in the same boat, you'll likely have to redo the first part again to earn the first badge.

It's a great and hilarous game, however, at the end temple fight, with the two medusas and 5 skeletons, I could not do it, no matter how many times i tried and now I'm forced to quit the game because i CANNOT progress... I have the heart stuff and all and the game still wants me to die, i dont know how or what im supposed to do but i have to leave a great game unfinished... Please fix the brokenness of this, or make golden shield kill medusas.

Also, if you look at your quest hand in the first town, one of your quests is "cake". You can indeed complete this quest if you have four coins to spare.

pro-tip: if your inventory is full when you pick something up, it goes away. I had an inventory full of weapons and lost the mushroom this way...
