I like it. Its challenging and fun. I kinda wish the reinforcements actually help out on the battlefield. I'm interested in learning about how the game will play out

My one problem in this game is, that when the screen is flooded with opponents, my game lags so much I can't use skills.

No enemies coming... in fact nothing happened... You could move Argus all over the map just doing nothing! Check that bug.

This game is just amazing. The battle system is interesting and new, I've never played something similar, though it can be a little difficult at times. But I find I more enjoy the out of battle scenes, the progression of events by talking to the rest of the camps, and the love story between Argus and Elvina. Truly a masterpiece, keep the work up. 5/5.

Really fighting by yourself when you have other people in the keep doing nothing? Yay let superman do everything, you stay there and watch him get all the arrows... Btw why do the AI just like ignoring you for the gate anyways? I mean the only thing that helped me by now are my abilities... But fighting normally is just buggy.

Given the lack of sophistication in the graphics, there is no reason why it should be so resource intensive on my brand new computer.

Pluses: Nice music, nice gfx and voice acting. Also a very nice idea about the game itself.
Minuses: Slow walking, too less dialogs and too less RPG-ish plot. Battle is really frustrating sometimes, enemies are going strightly to the gate and it becomes boring after a second attempt. Point-and-click fight is buggy, sometimes you have to select few times to select an enemy. And one more thing: are you the only one character who's fighting for the keep with the entire army of brakers, dogs etc.? Too strange.
Conclusion: a promissing game that has to be improved much much more.

Excellent dialogue and story, it makes you really care about the characters. My favourites are the drug dealer and prostitute;)

good game 2 probs though 1.wierd controls (the scrolling and mouse control for your character is unusual) 2.I can not see the screen and my computer is usually quite a bright one but everything was far too dark. So I suggest that in the sequel (has it already been made??) create it with a lighter palate in mind okay :)

It is hard to scroll through map and the stupid character just attacking those which attacked him and those you clicked...

I have a high end computer and dont get lag in flash games, but there are lag problems here. I seem to get increasing lag once a battle/area is loaded until it's unplayable, THEN it suddenly clears and is fine at least for a while. I have had this in busy battle scenes, but also within the keep with not too much going on...

Why was the whore added to this game? I don't get it. Like I would need to please my pixel soldier with another pixels. :P

For those having trouble, use your skills to best effect. In early levels charge from one side of the gate to the other to clear out breakers. Use lightning to stun siege weps or take out reapers. I mostly reserved stomp for breakers since they seem to be the only ones to be one-hit by it. Traps are your friends, lay them any time you can if you are within cast range of the gate. If you pause you should be able to lay them where an enemy is about to step. Of course, fireball is just as good and a bit easier to use. The cast with the arc area of effect doesn't have much use except against breakers, but stun a group with them then follow up with another skill like charge that wouldn't normally kill them completely and maybe you'll see some results. Don't get too far from the wall unless there are siege weapons, try to set up traps at the wall before you attack them. Upgrade early, especially your weapon!

pretty shitty game yeah? controls are absolutely WORTHLESS, graphics are... well it was probably state of the art in 1990... story is somewhat regular not all that exciting. Nothing in particular that separates this game from any other. Furthermore guys rush for the wall asap and if I do choose to go after them (dont do this) the next wave gets all the way to the wall and ignores me... if your Ortus is as bad as this you will most definitely get another 2/5

How can this be only 3.7 rated ? It is very well made, maybe too well for a casual flashgame ... I guess you can only rate it 5 if you like it or 4 if you don't - still faaar too well made to be 3 or below -.-

this game "seems" great because it is too demanding for my crap computer to run
it would be nice if there is a quality option
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
cool game hate the controls. I hope in Ortus you can use the keyboard to move rather than the mouse. Many a time one wants to use an ability but instead your character ends up trying to melee the guy instead of zapping them

I actually found the mechanics and everything to be very, very entertaining. I honestly think with some tweeks to the next game like this, like make it more like an adventure game, include more classic RPG elements (level ups with stat points, different abilities/trees available from leveling up) and perhaps the ability to collect/equip items, I feel like it could end up being really good since the way everything works here makes it fun/not overly cumbersome to control the character and it just 'feels' right. Plus if you included missions there could still be quests where you had to defend castles, so the entire defense thing could still be included but it would be expanded on as part of a more adventure...ish game. I really think it could end up being quite great.

Wait. If they are trying to survive and need your help WHY DO THEY CHARGE YOU TO REPAIR AND UPGRADE WALLS? Seriously they are trying to survive these attacks and they make the person defending them pay them for something they should do?

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the storyline, but the battles got a bit repetitive and annoying. A little more interaction and control over where you did what would have been nice.
