Under rating threshold (show) Are the ghost's feet supposed to look unghostly? Looks kind of weird.

Too much trouble to make a new animation just for their feet. LAZY DEVELOPER! I'm sorry. Can you assume they are Half Ghosts? :D

Under rating threshold (show) Its impossible to get golden scarab as sun king if you buy to many upgrades. I just alvays win way b4 i can get 1750. Its almost same with other lvls - and no chain combo is not enuf , you gota try to miss all scarabs also witch is kinda silly.

+ - !

(-1)

Developer response from nerdook

everytime you collect a scarab from the cat god, you get another sun king on your side. and you get a bunch of money, too.

Under rating threshold (show) i find the priests are a lot more challenging to deal with than any other enemy, even the sun king, for a few reasons. 1) they spawn in groups meaning they will shield several enemies at the same time 2) they can shield themselves/each other meaning its gonna take that much longer to kill the things making it take that much longer to kill everything else and 3) you cant upgrade the speed of fireball and by the time you launch a fireball they can create another shield making all your efforts seem fruitless. without an upgraded divine pillar to spam on them they are quite annoying. i would suggest increasing the delay between their shield spawning, make them unable to shield themselves/each other, and/or increasing the fireball speed or making it upgradeable.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from nerdook

The key weakness of the priests is that their shields disappear without stopping a fireball, unlike, say, the shielded Soldiers. So with a single fireball + divine combo, you can easily take out an entire column of protected minions... you just need better timing, that's all!

Under rating threshold (show) Good game. I think I won the final mission entirely by luck - thank you, massively destructive meteors! I think the ending was worth it. The only problem I saw was that the Recharge ability didn't seem to work as intended - it seemed like it took just as long to recharge as before.

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from nerdook

That wasn't luck. That was a combination of upgraded meteors, and great aiming to collect scarabs, while knowing when to risk leaving the middle to grab a scarab! :D

Under rating threshold (show) A few tips, as some things aren't really clear — hopefully these will be implemented as tooltips or something in the final release: You don't have control over the scarab powers, a random one will trigger once you hit enough scarabs with a fireball; the amount needed to trigger a power is reduced via the Powers upgrade. Your fireballs can destroy enemy projectiles. Combos are hitting more than one enemy with the same fireball, and give tons of coins with the Combo upgrade. And you can see whether your Divine Pillar is available or recharging, by looking at the cursor :)

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from nerdook

Yea, good tips. I should find some way to let players know of these.

Under rating threshold (show) Im kinda hoping for some way to alter the fireball, since it is the main weapon. here are some ideas i came up with, changing colors (randomized or selected) , an aura of heat to give it a better chance to hit arrows those evil arr(ow)s , a small chance of taking the flyer out in one hit, make it slightly (pick one(bigger, faster, homing, move left and right a bit, more damaging to sunny), bounce, and the last one a few could have hairballs inside them that explode and slow the minions. really like the game cant wait to see it on the front page with the badge attacking the litter box :) (ps i dont know if its supposed to be like this but EVERY time i hit sunny with a fireball i get burnt)

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from nerdook

when you hit the Sun King, he returns a fireball at you... but a divine pillar tends to wipe out the fireball as it appears, so you can use that if the sun king is really near.

Under rating threshold (show) of course, it gets somewhat difficult to avoid killing the sun god the more upgrades you have, eh lol

Under rating threshold (show) Surprised I couldn't what Cat God looked like. Other then that only main issue was on the Sun Emperor level. You should move the unit selection to the right part of the screen. You can't walk all the way to the right and when it is on the left it ends up blocking your view since you can walk behind it.

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from nerdook

nah, it's fine where it is. I seriously doubt 75 pixels of screen on the left will make much difference in the game!

Mar. 02, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) My problem is that to get a higher score, your upgrades sort of work against you. The best way to gain score is to make the level last longer but as I get stronger, they get shorter. Am I missing something?

+ - !

(38)

Developer response from nerdook

Yes. Chain combos: with the combo bonus upgrades, the Golden Scarab should be easy peasy. Also, you don't have to kill the Sun God the moment he appears: if you deliberately aim for other minions first, you can usually rack up a pretty impressive score by the end of the level, especially with max upgrades.

r2d2go

Mar. 02, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Playing the Sun Emperor is ridiculous when you've maxed cat god. Each fire shield lasts 5 seconds and with 20 health, that's already 1:40 out of 3 minutes. Add in that his fireballs and flamestrikes destroy you, your minions and your fireballs continuously, he usually blocks fireballs for too long for you to kill him with pure fireball damage. Your minions are pretty useless too: all get killed by flame shields or fireballs, so your damage isn't going up that way either. I recommend making Cat God a set power for that level, instead of the Cat God you've been using.

Under rating threshold (show) Nerdook, nice job as always. As for my suggestion, I'd like to see an implementation of passive bonuses for every Gold Scarab badge you earn from earning a certain score in a level, like making the Pillar of Flames last a second longer, or taking off a second delay between fire balls, or maybe even a passive ability to heal one point of health for every 20 enemies you kill. Or maybe even a secret challenge level.

Under rating threshold (show) Alright guys, here's the deal. Hit Scarabs to use powers - starts at 5 to a power, there's upgrades that help. Power use is random. Hit the slaves (or sungod) to win, hit projectiles (arrows, fireballs from sungod) to get rid of them. Click to flamestrike or in mystic madness use a power. Advice: Upgrade non-power based things first. Why? Because you'll use a power is only going to come up maybe once or twice a game, but that's unlikely - on average you'll use powers less than once in the beginning. As you start getting more money, upgrade Scarabs/Power and it becomes more worthwhile (and cheap compared to the other upgrades!). For Sun-God battles, get more money by killing slaves in the masses, then letting the sun god live at maybe 3 prongs, until you have almost enough money to get the "golden scarab" for getting lots of money. Then kill the Sun God, using flamestrike and fireballs, very quickly.

Under rating threshold (show) Oh, also, the Recharge upgrade didn't change the speed of my divine fire's recharge. It still takes 6 seconds, despite it saying it should only take 3. Not sure if this happened to anyone else or if they noticed.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm not sure if this happens to others, or if it was intentional, but the Ankh says it restores to full health upon death and actually only restores to 3 health. Other than that, I had a good time with this game. Another winner from Nerdook.

Under rating threshold (show) Great Game! The fireball aiming is sort of counter intuitive, takes a while to get used to... Power-ups are fun too, but I thought scarab power would be something I could control, instead of a random ability in a random place. Overall great game! No bugs for me thus far!

There's a clear saves button... though that might be a little drastic. also, even with full upgrades, it's perfectly possible to get the Golden Scarab scores. You just need some strategy to do it.

Under rating threshold (show) Huzzah, the ending song has returned to us! Another fun game, 5/5. Didn't find any bugs to report. I had some trouble getting the golden scarab rating on the sun emperor level because of the 3rd offensive upgrade. If I shot the scarabs to get coins cat god died too quickly so I ended up having to avoid them and barely accumulated enough by waiting.

Mar. 01, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) So after playing through all of the levels, quite a few things need to be nerfed. The level where you play as the sun king should not use your current cat god upgrades, as it is impossible if you grind it out to fully upgrade everything. Also, the gold scarab quota needs to be tuned down. Again, fully upgrading everything makes it pretty much impossible to get that quota on the top 3 right hand levels. The glitches with the massive amount of gold and unlocking all levels after you beat the first level really need to be fixed also.

+ - !

(-1)

Developer response from nerdook

I'm still trying to recreate the gold glitch, because I've never seen it happen myself! Probably needs a rare combination of events to trigger, and I have yet to figure it out. =/ Also, I've tried to get Gold Scarabs on all levels with full upgrades, and it's perfectly possible, even on the Sun Emperor level. In fact, a stronger Cat God gives you more time to collect the amount of gold required.

Under rating threshold (show) So first impressions, the game seems amazing and much more in depth than the last game. Nice easy to navigate menus, it's nice to see features like data transfers and an enemy codex. However, after I beat the first level I instantly got over 80k in coins, effectively ruining any gameplay after that.
