Short, no explanation, seemingly no real choice of starter family, inability to fight player families, although advertised...
Horrible game, 1/5, but in the realm of Badge of the Day, 5/5 for being such a quick grab and not making me lay much more.

To those wondering how to find special items: you have to fight a family that owns an item. You'll have a chance to take their item as yours.

just keep fighting untill you randomly get your award then bail... I hate to judge a game based on 10 minutes play but wow... this is so bad it's practically unplayable. I mean they could at least give SOME explanation regarding the different characters/weapons/abilities/how they work/game mechanics - "no, no, no, throw them right in, they'll figure it out" 1/5

I'm surprised 2013gamer didn't get 672 stamps collected.
Considering he beat the game nearly 45 times over and had the score count each time.

this game is seriously unbalanced. with no grinding ability, how are you supposed to get better if you reach a level you can't beat? having to re-roll for enemies is a lazy game mechanic when it should be an option to level up before trying a harder level.

If there were a rating for lower than 1 star, this would merit. Nerdook your games are usually better than this, with what looks like no updates what so ever. Disappointed.

Got the medium badge, trying to figure out how to do the "upload your family" thing (Select a Custom Family, ???, Beat Family, Profit?)
Some sort of Badge for getting all the special items might be an idea, btw...

This is ridiculously unbalanced. Ranged attacks that take about a fifth of a character's hitpoints at any distance, when it takes the characters at least five turns to cross the board? That means I'm dead before I've even had chance to engage! Ridiculous.

Wait. The special items come when you finish a *neighbourhood*? As in, minimum 15 fights? For an easy badge? I've been playing half an hour already and I'm less than half-way there? An hour plus of grinding is usually worth a medium at the minimum.

@dthwsh1899: that would be because they're *fun*. The design is simple and funny, the game is kinda creative, it doesn't even *pretend* to be serious in any way, and basically give people a good laugh.
So, yeah, even though they are often imbalanced, even when they have crappy controls, even when the upgrades and their price make no sense, and even when winning or losing seems pretty random, people still have a good time playing them, so they get good ratings and become popular quick. And they totally deserve it ;)

There needs to be a tutorial in the beginning of the game. I honestly I have no real clue as to what i'm doing or how the turns work so i'm just kinda waiting for one of my guys to light up.

It still mystifies me how Nerdook games get badges or any popularity. Random drops should be part of badges, Level 5 shouldn't be against a players family with more upgrade points than you have and the class balancing had no thought put into it.

Loaded with artificial difficulty; forces you to spend upgrades before repicking family so you have to respec more, buy units blind with no idea it's upgrades or abilities. Not being able to replay levels was a nice touch though.
