The shadow demons are just past Santa's that have been corrupted by the corporate greed ruining Christmas. They have the same minions, the same style attacks only a more sinister color, they even run after children to 'save' them the same way as our Santa does. Then we get money for defeating them. Money so our Santa can slowly slip into the demonic depravity and eventually become a shadow demon himself for a future Santa to slay.

The most annoying thing is running straight across a kid and having it not trigger because all the hitboxes are too small.

One small bug: The "Hit a Shadowdemon with a Thundercracker" achievement seems to be broken. I have both hit and killed multiple Shadowdemons (the big ones, not the minions) but I still haven't been awarded the achievement. Otherwise, a great game!

I don't think this is necessary but upgrade priorities should be damage/att speed for santa and then max hp and spawn for the elves and reindeer. When you max everything related to the santa you can just use the elves as meatshields to build your combo up.

He needs money to buy presents... But he shoots presents at the enemy.
Maybe he should shoot snowballs or Christmas cookies instead.

Upgrades only become available for certain minions after certain rounds. This means that you cannot redo level 1 repeatedly and purchase all the upgrades. Completed round required: Santa-1, Elf-3, Reindeer-5, Brute Elf-8.
Powerups always respawn every 3 rounds. So when rounds 3,6,9,12, and 15 start you will be given a new powerup. If you hold onto a powerup and finish round 5, you will LOSE that powerup and be given a new one on round 6. This also means that, in general, it's best to save your powerups until the round before you'd be getting a new one and use them then. This would be levels 5, 8, 11, 14, and 15.
I found that Spread and Piercing were extremely helpful since they allow you to hit multiple enemies and are able to hit the boss even when he's behind his minions. Other than that I found damage upgrades to be the next most useful. If you aren't as bullet-aware, some health bonuses would probably be good to invest in too.
Other than that, good luck! :)

Curse you nerdook I just lost the last hour of my life on something I meant to play for 5 minutes. Your games always do this to me.
went through the comments, and i've fixed the bugged upgrade system at high levels. should be working fine now. let me know if it isn't! also added customize arrows, but they're not obvious.

Love it, there is only a small glitch when you win a round, the level up menu may or may not flash for a second then disappear then display as usual.

"Come sit on Santa's lap children, or else you'll be devoured by Shadowdemons!!!"
"Now that I can't gain any bonuses from rescuing you children being at the final shadowdemon, I'll leave your fate up to them ho ho ho!"

Now that was fun :)
Only thing is that the hitbox seems a bit off, you can hit them just bellow there feet but not in the waist and above, same for you santa wich makes dodging kind of strange.
Also ther is a perk that 'increases the amount af HP gained killing demons and rescues' I don't get any HP from either.

I think I found a bug. After you upgraded all your abilities and you get the "press anywhere to continue" sign, if you get new available abilities later on the game (for example, the brute elves, which are not available in the first couple of levels) you can't level those abilities up... the abilities show up in the level up screen, but if you click anywhere the game continues without assigning the point.

This guy I'm fighting is named Venomgut. I have enough poison damage to bring the first few bosses to 1 health REALLY quickly. Bring it on, you pathetic wannabe. Lemme show you how Poison is REALLY done.

when santa's upgrades are maxed, you need an option to upgrade the difficulty of the demons, along with more upgrades.
it would drastically increase replayability. or add an unlimited mode, with increasing difficulty, and unlimited upgrades
