Its stunning how this game has super good graphics, pretty smart AI, good graphs, lots of planets/stations that do different stuff, 18 levels, yet this was made in 2011. Definitely deserves getting those badges and "Best of 2011" even if its too late. Sequel would be nice though, but one of my ideas would be "PUT SOME LEVELS WITH 3 SIDES"

Oh, I see... lvl 15... completely symetric map. Both the computer and me start on an uncolonized "100" planet... I start with 40 ships, computer start with 50... I can understand why I keep losing...

easy : can conquer every map with closed eyes. normal : stuck at stage 12. Call me lame, I call that bad difficulty progression. I'm fed off watching walkthroughs to beat a game.

Was having fun until 17. Now it's frustrating. A game is supposed to be fun, not that something that makes me want to smash my computer. You sir earned a 1/5.

Honorless game. You either zerg rush the enemy at the start before they can capture a single planet or get steamrolled yourself. It has no balance whatsoever unlike your second version. And if that wasn't enough in the last 2 levels the enemy gets "mother ships" which gives them rapid speed ship production (faster than a size 100 planet), has a built in turrent, and has no population cap if they don't get zerg rushed you are guaranteed to die. Honestly I'd give this game a -5 stars if Kongregate let me.

OH COME ON!!! You mean to tell me that's all there is?? This is an incredible game! Don't bother with upgrades, unnecessary. This is a game in its own class, PLEASE make more like this!!

google chrome doesnt support certain flash and java games anymore try using firefox... you'll be able to play just fine

Please, please make some sort of random level generator. I know that randomly generated levels wouldn't be as good as the designed ones, but at least it'd be something. I've loved this game for years, and it just has...something. Even the sequel can't compare.

↓ Motherships are too easy, just sayin since they start at 1 alien ship so you can literally fly at them with your whole fleet and just demolish them, even the last level, could they possibly get a slight buff to add to the challenge? :P

When you first meet the mothership just swarm it and you'll quickly win since you instantly win as soon as it's captured

the biggest part of your own losses is dome by the motherships becouse they are a giant trap they explode when you capture them and if you leave you get shot down

this game is stupid i had fun up to the last 2 levels of the game which are impossible to beat on anything but easy even after trying 37 times

Is anyone else having technical difficulties? I can play Solarmax 2, but not this one. I've tried it on Safari, Google Chrome, and Firefox, but nothing works.

Actually the last one is pretty simple...keep/capture Earth, Moon, 3 Laser Stations, and the Shipyard...the Laser defense will be able to hold off the Motherships as Earth, Moon, and the Shipyard produce more ships. Once you get enough (e.g Maximum of 140) attack each Mothership. Oh! And also...this is for Easy Difficulty.

Aaaaaah the last level was reaaaallly difficult, the way i finally figured it out was to capture the laser and the earth (having to colonize the Earth bugs me though lol), and the immediately sending as many ships as possible to the laser that is under attacked (all 75 ships + all the produced ships), and then defending the other targets of the mothership WHILE capturing the moon, then taking the third laser WHILE DEFENDING THAT GODDAMN SHIPYARD, and if you can control the shipyard and the 3 lasers, you need to find a window to launch a massive attack on the left ship which will burn your population and leave you defenseless for a while, and if you can survive this, its easy, BUT DAMN

@Tgedati: No reason to rage. The mothership can be easily tackled, by always pre-emptig its attacks. After taking over your initial planet, attack the planet, that the mothership is going to attack. The distance to the planet group is the motherships weakness und has to be abused. By always pre-empting it, you slowly take over all planets and let your forces grow, while the Mothership cannot become stronger.

i had to give this 1star because of the last 2 lvls. even if you own all planets on 17 the AI will still bulldoze right through you and I'm certain the numbers you see on normal are a blatant lie.

When it tells you how many pilots and crew were destroyed, you realize you weren't sending X-Wings, you were sending Star Destroyers.

uhm... i dont know if someone else is having this problem but... Black screen on Firefox 40.0.2... the weird thing is that i have played this game before... not sure why is not starting... (the minigame did work and the download completed though)
