those puny ships aren't as puny as you might think. On the last mission where it says ....at the cost of (X) ships of the Earth's defence fleet. (Y) pilots and crew gave their lives..... If you divide the pilots and crew lost by the ships lost, you get 1341 pilots and crew per ship. So all those ships that you mindlessly send to their deaths are actually massive battleships, not one manned fighters!

For people wanting to play it (since it's a black screen), there's a working version here. http://armorgames.com/play/11965/solarmax

Very, very nice!
I wouldn't fret that much about a lack of upgrades, this game isn't about upgrades - instead of upgrades, there are new tactical possiblities as the structures come into play. What it does need is more levles! Larger maps with more planets would be nice, too, if the engine could handle it. I like the way it's balanced: not impossibly hard, but (on the higher difficulties) not impossibly easy, either.
And then, of course, multiplayer!
5/5.

Aswome game, concept is not very original but the artwork and the flawsles programing realy make this game look very profesional. Good job 5/5

5/5. Excellent - unlike many games of this nature, in this game you actually have to use tactics, and the new items do actually effect these tactics.

This doesn't need upgrades or levelups or anything like it. It rides on the strategic value, and it rides that wave very well! If anything, it's slightly short. Graphics are amazing, audio is perfect and fitting, and I love the (deceivingly) simple, yet rewarding playstyle. Surprisingly epic conclusion to! I really don't see much that needs changing, although a custom map creator would be VERY welcome. ;) Five stars good sir, well deserved!

This game needs two things:a level editor and the ability to make it such that all ships produced from X planet immediately fly to Y planet. It can really be useful in the last level when you want all the ships from the Shipyard to fly to the selected launching point for a mothership-attacking fleet.

Please make a second version. Maybe custom game types, bigger maps, new structures. capital ships? like 10 times the size of normal ones?

I may have said this before, but I'll say it again: this needs a sequel or level editor. I keep playing the same levels over and over again because I like the gameplay.

AMAZING GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needs badges, a sequel, longer campaign, maybe even add playable aliens. + if you agree to at least one idea.

"Admiral, Earth Defence Laser Stations are operational! Shall we man them?" "What for? I don't expect three enormous alien motherships pop out of nowhere"

Loved the game but level 17 is extremely frustrating on normal, as the motherships build rate is ridiculously high (I have completed all other levels on normal)
