Warning! There is a glitch that makes getting the last badge pretty much impossible. Copypasta this to keep it alive!
You CANNOT fully upgrade your towers by using the mouse. You have to use the keyboard keys. Use the TAB button to select the upgrade and use ENTER to take it.
WARNING: It will let you spend money on upgrades beyond the max using this trick. So to keep you from losing cash, here are the maxes:
ALL range upgrades cap at 2 upgrades, anything more will not be reached
Dart Pierce is a single upgrade extra levels do nothing.
Cannon bigger explosion is a single upgrade extra levels do nothing.
Neither the Boomerang or Super Monkey can go beyond their 1st level upgrades.
And last but not least:
Tacks can be upgraded all the way to HYPERSONIC.
LAST WARNING: Hypersonic on the tack shooters is, imo, TOO fast. I personally feel it makes even hard WAY TOO EASY. Use at your own "risk". If you want a real challenge do it without hypersonic.

There is a "slight" glitch that involves using the Tab and Enter to upgrade tack shooters' speed. Once it reaches "Hypersonic", you'll have 8 solid tack beams. Spidertackshooter anyone?

The game gets quite frustrating sometimes...Me:Cannon hit the lead bloon" Cannon:"Nah I'll hit the black one." But anyways very good game 5/5.

I tested out the hypersonic tack shooter and just laughed :D. Three of them and a couple lead-bloon-killing cannons can easily beat hard mode.

For anyone still playing this game, it IS not impossible to get the hard badge without the glitch. The idea is keeping an equal amount of towers countering the left and right waves. Don't be afraid to spike a lot in the early levels, and later, against the black bloons. 1) Start the game with one cannon in the top right corner of the crossroad. 2) Build two dart towers near the bottom of the screen. Range upgrade them, trust me, it's worth it if you place them properly. 3) Make four unupgraded tack towers in corners. 4) Add a second cannon by the crossroads. 5) Build two boomerang towers, one in the top right area, the other one in the crossroad area. Both need to get the multi hit upgrade. 5) By this time, just keep adding unupgraded cannons and multi hit boomerangs to the mix. Remember to place 1 cannon per side near the entrance so that you can quickly eliminate lead bloons. I beat the game with 42 lives left, only because I left an easy yellow bloon get through.

I'm pretty sure each upgrade is INTENDED to only be bought once, it's just poorly programmed so that you can buy them repeatedly if you buy it all at once. You can tell because your money can also go into the negatives when you tab over. The last badge is achievable without using the tab space glitch. I haven't done it though, because the tab space glitch is awesome.

If you keep upgrading the tack tower's firing rate using lajekahr's method, it will get to "hypersonic" and destroy everything except lead balloons. Nothing can get past a bomb tower plus that

Scew thw hypersonic glitch, Hard is possible: 4 Dart Monkeys (2 piercing) then Cannons (Bigger bombs) and Boomerang Monkeys (Multi shot). Create 2 areas of destruction about mid way down, one on the left and one on the right (dont forget to use the road tacks when necessary)

When you use the glitch you dont gain money you lose it. if you notice as you pop bloons the money lowers because its in the negative, but theres no negative sign.

I just created a new kongregate account and I love going back to play these bloons tower defense games to farm points and level up from the badges.

Funny thing, not only does the key-upgrade-beyond-the-limit glitch work, it also doesn't check available money. So you can place the tack and upgrade it to hypersonic before round 1. You'll get into negative cash (the minus sign is not shown), just save for a cannon to deal with leads, and then a few more tacks and upgrade :)

ok after and if you use the glitch for the hypersonic tack shooter. your money will grow but i found out it is a NEGATIVE number and you have to reset that to 0 by killing bloons and beating the round. After you have reached 0 and then your money will rise again so you can buy new items

So apparently you can use the upgrade glitch to take out a loan and upgrade your towers fully before you have the money to do so. I wonder what the interest rate is?

Just curious..... If a balloon...... got to your base... what is the worst that could happen... not the most imposing adversaries are they.... lol 5/5 though cause i love this series :D

I have found a way to win the game on any level and any mode! What you have to do is at the start of the game, buy a tack shooter and place it by the spawn of the bloons. Next press tab until there is a yellow box outlining the "Faster Shooting" box. Then press enter until speed changes to hypersonic. And there you are, unlimited speed & tacks! WARNING. This WILL put your money into negative, but this doesn't really affect you considering you found the best weapon there is to use. Thumbs up so people can see!
