What I like best about this game: Easy badge, Dec 16, 2012; Medium badge; October 15, 2013; Hard Badge, November 30, 2015; Impossible badge; best so far, level 70 and still trying after four years.

@mazza478: pay attention to how big the reticle is when aiming. If it turns big, that means you are shooting outside the effective range and it will be really inaccurate. That might help your aiming be less "painful shit".

I remember why i stopped playing this. The RNG is so stacked against you it's disgusting. You need to get past the absurd hard start and hope to god the shop doesn't start selling weapons you aren't even close to using or you'll be using the default weapon where you'll meet your end after day 5.

@TheDarkoko Reloading mods can't be used on a gravity gun, but the game does, albeit very rarely, generate gravity guns with reloading mods already modded on.

GOT THE IMPOSSIBLE BADAGE :)
Hunter with militia, ranger and sheriff. Bowgun 5 (anti armor, impact, damage), gravity gun 3 (leech, damage), gravity gun 4 (leech, damage), combat shotgun 3 (damage, leech, ammo, reloading).
If I can give you some advice that I didn't see in any guide is: A) Once you reach level 10 hire a henchman everyday until someone can use a gravity gun. B) If you are struggling and a game doesn't look promising, it's worth it to ruin it for good with a huge debt by hiring henchmen but make sure you get the get to day 40 for the gravity gun medal. C) Also, a character using gravity gun gets skills you need, just focus them to upgrade reloading until they have around 50% bonus.
And just to notice that your game doesn't have to be absolutely perfect: As hunter I won without having cripple shot, engineer and power shot which are supposed to be important skills.

Found a sniper pistol with 5 MOD slots. Kitted it out with Damage + Fire Rate + Anti armor (x2) + Reload mods and now it's doing about 300+ damage per second. It never runs out of ammunition. It's pretty much God mode.
By the way - the key to getting the best MODs is Exploring the town. Eventually you'll come across an event called "Gift" which gives you a random MOD, but with higher chance of getting high grade 3 MODs then in the Smithy or through recycling. Keep loading your saved state when you have that event, until it gives you the MOD you are looking for.

Small tip: try to have recruits who handle big guns(2xmilitia + 1xnoble). It takes longer to reload, but they do massive dmg, + militia throw grenades all the time, while noble will have more party skills and luckily active. Give yourself a fast reload weapon (auto shotgun and laser pistol work for me) and take care of the remaining enemies.

Got much further when I equipped 2 Gravity guns on teammates - takes care of damage, reloading, ammunition and aiming all at the same time (which are the main problems with equipping any other weapon in the game pretty much, even with MODs). One gravity ball making its way to the other side will kill 6-7 enemies easily, even if they are tanks/dragons.
Shotgun is the other key to this game: Holding down Space bar permanently causes instant rapid reloading. I'm doing 39x4 with Anti Armour 3 and Damage Mod 3. Pretty much makes an assassin shot with some crowd control capability.

Please fix the bug: the bowgun often doesn't hit the barbarians. When they go rampage, I often cannot defend tha castle. Thanks.

That feel when you're trying to save up 5000g for the 3rd recruit and the two guys you've got won't level anything but combat skills

ya great game but the crossbows are starting to fail alot half my shots go straight through the guys without damaging them. can't win if u couldn't hit them, btw auto crossbow+ 10-50 arrow per min = pure mayhem and a nice kill count....
