Its a very nice and addictive game. There's this one horrible thing - sometimes you can see that your team member doesn't even try to aim. The crosshair stays put for seconds even when there is many enemies all over the field.

I can only use the 4 characters on the first page, instead of all 8 ones, (4 on the second page). the game tells me that I need medals to unlock them though I've already unlocked medals. How do I really unlock them?

When you upgrade the shop, it automatically refreshes inventory each time so think of it as a resettable refresh when you're fishing for good items to buy.

While this game has great strategy elements. LUCK still trumps all. You could not get the weapon you wanted during the entire game. You might get a 6 mod slots weapon or not be able to get better then 3. Then getting the mods themselves is extremely expensive and hard. The shop barely sells lvl 3 mods. Could take you 20 lvls before even seeing one. Plus turning your weapon into a mod is way too random. Having a 6k weapon turn into a worthless lvl1 mod is just retarded. All the customization and options are great, but they are so heavily depended on luck that you can't really call it a strategy game.

This shooter was made to be the flash companion of a graphical roguelike called "Elona", which is pretty hard itself (even if more casual than other roguelikes). As its roguelike counterpart, this has lots and lots of upgrades, skills, tricks.. and randnomness. And the game is very difficult even in casual mode. I suppose that the idea was to collect medals in the various games and then play another game, and so on. So even the casual mode is not enough "casual". Anyway an interesting game.

my best team still me as sniper, another sniper, ranger, and sheriff.. survived day 100++ with that.. ranger with gravity gun clear mob fast.. while two snipers one hit kill everything.. if some mobs managed to get close to the wall sheriff will push them with knockback shot.. thats invulnerable defense :)

Easiest class is Sheriff with manual reload shotty. Best class is Sheriff with manual reload shotty. Just hold space down to reload and keep clicking to shoot, it becomes an auto shotty :)

It seems that there is no point in raising the level of the hunter (beyond the 40 level). The range penalty is meaningless and what remains to improve it's only the "accuracy" and "rifle"

So... is there some trick to this? I'm on day seven and I can't even hire a new recruit since I need 2,000 gold to build a house, and I can't get any gold because I have to keep spending it all on repairs and henchmen and the enemies never drop any loot that's worth anything.

Terrible game, too hard to even get started. I assume this is one of those games where you hate it in the beginning and quit or you get LUCKY and you get into higher level and continue playing as it gets easier along the way.

@ltf18 You use ragnarok. You probably pressed the shortcut number. When you do dragons come and own you unless your prepared. If you survive, you get HEAPS of xp.

"The special trainer picks You. After hours of training, you gain Insurance!" So that's how people get their insurance in Elona...

The most effective weapon I've found to use has been the laser pistol, so I would recommend following the Small Guns path

I love that weapons have shared cooldown. It lets me use my rifle with a speed of machine gun just by switching guns back and forth after each shot. And "Nandeyanen" whenever sister gets knocked down is always fun to hear.

1.Make lv10 sheriff to unlock noble(no special skill, but use all types of weapons and has exp, accuracy, dmg bonus and outperform any other class at the end)2. Hire ranger(big gun), rogue(rifle), guardian(shotgun) for all types of party skills. 3. Buy chickens, museum, finish day unharmed to get money bonus. 4. Use rifle and aim for head shots to get bonus exp. 5. Unlock taunt when you want more gold, exp in return of higher difficulty.

@AmusingWarrior and others, try different classes and weapons to see what works best for you. Medals give very good starting and general bonuses, the museum is sort of an advanced tutorial. Read Help, it has good tips. You need more that the normal 4 action points, try to have you or an ally focus on the active skill as soon as possible. Strategy is an important part of the game, the work you do in town is what keeps you going in the long run. Your team is very important, by looking at the recruit in the barracks you can learn what skills and party skills each class has. Plan ahead, what is your role in the party and what is the role of each member, who has which party skill, which party skills do you want in your team at all and so on. Explore the game, knowledge is power. Have fun! The general nature of the tips is to encourage players to try for themself rather than handing out the answer, hopefully it still makes some sense.

Here are some enemy HP values. Hope this helps planning ahead.
Day 1-40
Rat: 16, Sheep: 44, Chicken: 54, Crow: 34, Barbarian: ~80, Suicide: mid 70's
Day 41-80 (roughly 300%-400% HP boost, depending on the enemy)
Rat: ~64+, Sheep: ~160, Chicken: ~190, Crow: 112
Your main weapon Mk level should be about 1/10th of the day count. So you'd want a Mk 5 weapon at day 50 or so. I've never had too much trouble using this idea. Just remember to improvise!

i enjoy this game, but i just cannot get past wave 13 or so. ive tried chickens, max helpers and every class at least 3 times some more. by lvl 13 or so im just overwhelmed, my helpers are ineffective and i dont one shot everything so its over. i have all the badges i can get without getting farther into the game -_-
