@MadpathMoth - ??? You can easily close the help menu by just clicking outside of its area. There's not even any danger of being attacked while reading it because the enemies are paused.

Hint to anyone playing: Don't open the help menu. There's no way to close it and it just glitches out the game, makes you lose, and forces you to refresh. Not fun.

THE HELL DO YOU MEAN "FIRST ROUND"!? I have held this castle for 40 DAYS, against suicide bombers, dragons, and futuristic, heavily armored machines of destruction created by a LITERAL ACTUAL GOD specifically to destroy me and the castle I'm protecting, and you call this ONE ROUND!? Okay.

I don't expect any but if there would come an update I'd wish there would be: 1) Having up to 3 extra AP to purchase permanently, Active skill it too unreliable; 2) Having a way to add a modding socket to a weapon. Maybe the Blacksmith could make a special offer which costs accordingly; 3) Making the Special Trainer offering 3 different skills to choose from; 4) Giving the Sniper the "Negotiator" and "Accountant" party skills; 5) Giving the Duelist the "Quick Eyed" party skill and making his Adrenaline raise easier on higher levels (80+); Overall I wish that game would have had some ways to control bad RNG. Still fantastic game if the RNG is on your side.

This game is so hard when you don't use the accuracy mods to reduce the recoil and spread. I can't do well on hardcore mode even with good strategies.

There are a handful of fanboys here in the comments downvoting critical comments. Downvote this comment to prove my point. This game is mediocre generic shite much like Eternal League of Nefia. :)

You cannot beat the game smoothly without doing certain things and playing casual mode beforehand as the difficulty ramps up at levels 3 and 5 to the point that you have more enemies swarming you than you have bullets. Also, some random waves are simply impossible. Oh gee, spawning million ranged attackers and mosquitos when you are already swarmed. Balance issues.

that's weird: I could've sworn that the burst fire skill was triggered by weapons modded with auto-fire before...maby it's only specific weapons?

Hey kids, having trouble seeing at night?
Can't aim even in the day with a sniper rifle?
We can help! Buy a nearly worthless damage HMG today!
It hits EVERYTHING on the map for about no damage but hey! You hit everything! And when you finally randomly get rage from unintentional headshots, THEN and only then can you deal MASSIVE damage. WORTH THE WAIT.

While I doubt many will read this, having recently come back to playing Elona, I felt like leaving this comment, Elona shooter's biggest failing is that Noa (the developer) created it to promote his main game, named Elona (just plain elona, standing for The Eternal League of Nefia), but didn't really make that clear with the English release. The vast majority of people that have played this have no idea he had another game. Elona was a rouge-like dungeoncrawler with the same quirky humor (most of which is actually based on that from the original game) and charm that lead me to eventually look up this game on wikipedia. Noa sadly stopped development due to personal reasons, a few short years before crowd funding became widespread enough to save the game. If you have any interest, visit the dedicated wiki, which is still maintained by a small, but active community.

I've been playing this occasionally since it came out; continues to be one of the best games on Kongregate. Many ways to have a successful playthrough, but challenging enough to need to pay attention and have a decent understanding of the game. To this day, I still haven't completed the impossible badge. Fantastic game, especially in a gaming world currently dominated by freemium MMOs and idle cash cows. 5/5

oh yeah, and the dragonflys, dear god the dragonflys. You will lose more hair trying to shoot those bastards out of the sky then you would dealing with impossible to kill bosses in Guild Wars.

211 days on hardcore and counting! If I can offer one advice: use ROGUE! The money I earn from the class ability is now over 400K!

Holy crap, I actually played Elona Shooter nearly a decade before discovering the original game. I got here from the wiki and I recall everything perfectly. Oh, the nostalgia...

I often try to recycle a gun (worth of 6 to 10k) to get a level 3 mod, but it very rarely gives a damage or reloading mod. Tried hundreds of times, I got those 2 kinds of mods very rarely. Must be buggy.

Extremely helpful tip :
When using a bow, the ones that go through enemies, keep a second gun and after shooting your bow, switch to the gun, then switch back to the bow and you can shoot again immediately!
