Hey kids, having trouble seeing at night?
Can't aim even in the day with a sniper rifle?
We can help! Buy a nearly worthless damage HMG today!
It hits EVERYTHING on the map for about no damage but hey! You hit everything! And when you finally randomly get rage from unintentional headshots, THEN and only then can you deal MASSIVE damage. WORTH THE WAIT.

While I doubt many will read this, having recently come back to playing Elona, I felt like leaving this comment, Elona shooter's biggest failing is that Noa (the developer) created it to promote his main game, named Elona (just plain elona, standing for The Eternal League of Nefia), but didn't really make that clear with the English release. The vast majority of people that have played this have no idea he had another game. Elona was a rouge-like dungeoncrawler with the same quirky humor (most of which is actually based on that from the original game) and charm that lead me to eventually look up this game on wikipedia. Noa sadly stopped development due to personal reasons, a few short years before crowd funding became widespread enough to save the game. If you have any interest, visit the dedicated wiki, which is still maintained by a small, but active community.

I've been playing this occasionally since it came out; continues to be one of the best games on Kongregate. Many ways to have a successful playthrough, but challenging enough to need to pay attention and have a decent understanding of the game. To this day, I still haven't completed the impossible badge. Fantastic game, especially in a gaming world currently dominated by freemium MMOs and idle cash cows. 5/5

oh yeah, and the dragonflys, dear god the dragonflys. You will lose more hair trying to shoot those bastards out of the sky then you would dealing with impossible to kill bosses in Guild Wars.

211 days on hardcore and counting! If I can offer one advice: use ROGUE! The money I earn from the class ability is now over 400K!

Holy crap, I actually played Elona Shooter nearly a decade before discovering the original game. I got here from the wiki and I recall everything perfectly. Oh, the nostalgia...

I often try to recycle a gun (worth of 6 to 10k) to get a level 3 mod, but it very rarely gives a damage or reloading mod. Tried hundreds of times, I got those 2 kinds of mods very rarely. Must be buggy.

Extremely helpful tip :
When using a bow, the ones that go through enemies, keep a second gun and after shooting your bow, switch to the gun, then switch back to the bow and you can shoot again immediately!

Some technical problems you may run into if you're playing the sheriff (or any manual reloading class for that matter):
Are your shots not hitting? It might be because of poor aiming skills and improvement requires conscious effort to proper mouse placement and getting into a steady rhythm of aiming in the time interval between clicks.
It could also be due to recoil, which happens when you fire faster than the recoil can reset. I find an early 4-5 points into cool between days 10-40 makes all the difference in the world.

Here is my problem: day 49 for the x time. 4 guys, all with crapy weapons. Why? because I dont have enough money to buy guns and try them to find the best. Yes, sometimes I find big guns but I do not have enough experience. Well, I can hold those weapons in the inventory but then I do not have space for new things for sell. And of course, I need the help of the expensive henchman and of course I always lose because I try again and again the same day 49 with the same crapy guns and no money and no better walls and nothing to do other than lose again and again :( Frustraiting :(

This is crazy with the Rogue as money maker => https://pl.vc/1c60po and this makes me feel the Rogue is indispensable for higher levels of play. This is day 160 HC with taunted enemies with a perfect score. Even had games when I looted 18k in a single game, those which I couldn't taunt enemies and made enemies die very easy. I'd like to challenge the game without using the Rogue, but I don't feel like getting far without the money earned by him. Here's my feedback: 1) Active or medals need provide at least +1-2 AP more to spend AT ALL TIMES, Taunt/Robber skill suffer usage because we don't always have it 2) Might need a mod which does nth. else than adding a modding socket to a weapon, maxed at 6 ofc. Reload for shop is just cheap way to get trough until finding the ideal weapon 3) The Sniper class really suffers usefulness, since on later levels the monster density doesn't really allow to build up his special ability. Breaks in shooting are contraproductive, misses even more.

After playing for seven years I finally figured out the story/plot of this game. (Spoiler Alert, not really) At the title screen the little sister in the tower kills everyone at a wedding "feast". The only survivor is the groom who then seeks revenge by throwing anything and everything he can muster to attack the castle. I no longer feel so good about myself defending the castle when I know I'm protecting a murderous psychopath. We're the bad guys.

AI mode for the own hero is a nice feature for casual play if you just want to reach Day 150 for the medal. The last 25 days were totally played by the computer and all what was necessary is looting, selling and spending AP or upgrade.
Was done by:
Hunter and Main (Bow Gun), Rogue (Machine Gun), Ranger (Gravity Gun) and Guardian with Pistol with all at least with 5 slotted guns

If you're having trouble surviving Ragnarok you can actually do it pretty early on. Start out as sheriff because you want to start out with a shotgun. Do your best to max out Doc Holliday and (obviously) get a couple of good shotguns. I did it with an auto-shotgun and a normal one wit auto-loading. Have at least two party members and pick up a henchman. Have some repair hammers and grenades and pray the day before, you also don't want to do it until you've also got the cup of jure. Activate the sword, fire until all of the dragons are about to blow you up then use the cup. Toss grenades and fire. Start firing from the edge of the screen and move up, otherwise the dragons get scattered and your pellets aren't all landing on the dragons like you need, that's why you get Doc Holliday. With some patience and a couple of prayers to RNGesus you can win.

Tried the game again. It just plain cheats. Can't finish level 1. If you have any conscience, delete your cheating pile of shit.
