People, if it's hard, try to train 6 mana and THEN click "skip tuturial" - you will save a train point, and it means that you get 5 days for FREE! It really helped me alot, so I'm suggesting you to try.

hey guys I just spent 3 years in a cave to get mana before even ending the tutorial. Yay, now I have to spend another half year in that cave everytime I want to increase my skills. Is the old mage dead yet?

Play Book of Mages two the dark times on Nobstudio. this game was in my top ten favorite games... ...then I played number two and now that I think about it this game sucks **** compared to number two. in this book of mages the only big thing that affects the later play of this game is if you assasinate the great mage or not. In number two theres literaly 25 things that affects later play. It is also three times longer and you have the ability to save in Three slots. So try Book of Mages two the dark times on Nobstudio for a really good game.
Also don't rate this comment until you've tried Book of Mages two on Nobstudio. =-)

Being a Red Fire Mage is so cool, but repetitive. You'll win every single battle if doing this: Max Burn Mana and acquire Drain Mana 2. Max Low Attack and High Defense. In battle, keep using Burn Mana and Drain Mana 2 whilst protecting yourself with Low Attack or High Defense. When enemie's mana come to 0, keep draining it with BM and DM2, but now he'll be vulnerable to your attacks. 5/5 + Favorited, even though the second one is much better.

One major issue is that it's impossible to beat the game as a Poison Water mage. One way or another, you have to fight the Chaos Fire clan leader (either to become rank 1, or to win the great mage election if you aren't rank 1), and it's an unwinnable fight. You'll lose 10HP per round to his attacks regardless of what you do, and there's no way to damage him other than poison (which adds up to 8 damage per round), since he'll always have a T6 attack ready thanks to Twice, which will block your T5 attacks. It might have been possible to win if he went first, since then you could land a hit on him by blocking his first attack and then attacking in the same direction before twice first charges, but since the player goes first, the fight is mathematically impossible to win.
/ I should note that the fight against the Sea Water clan leader is tricky as a Poison Water mage, but still possible. You just have to remember that he won't use mana burn if your mana is less than or equal to 12.

theres a glitch if youre in ice water clan and you freeze someone who is going to attack and you choose freeze and then defence the game will freeze

Played this game 6-7 years ago back when i was in highschool. If i remember correctly this game was one of the best flash games i have played along with the Sony series. Came back to comment after I just replayed Book of Mages 2 to spread the awesomeness!!

Because I am a new player, I actually played 'Book of Mages: The Dark Times before The Chaotic Period. Frankly, The Dark Times is a whole lot more fun!

Sea Water clan and mana burn all the way, until you go up against Red Fire clan and their mana drain.
They can have 0 mana, steal yours ( Even if you have none ) and use it to beat the shit out of you.
All in one turn. And there's nothing you can do about it.

The only thing that bugged me throughout the whole game was the spelling and whatnot "only way to find out is to go to" ..Is it just me? Or does this bug other people aswell?

Um what the hell?1 Is it impossible to win as the poison clan?? The other clans all have one better in either high or low attack and you can not mana burn red leader into submission. Also, the ice leader has a one turn advantage vs a maxed out poison mage.... I get him to 10 mana and he freezes me then high attacks and I die... can't do anything to prevent it.... poison clan sucks.

Very good, There should be more RPGs like that. Could be just a little more special spells and something more than high and low attack and defence actions, but it's great, plot is good and you can feel that you are playing your own character. Really liked it.

A good easy way to win most battles, is to mana drain when you can, and defend yourself when you cant, it works on most clan mages except one of the fire ones, which can mana drain, then you only end up f---ing yourself up. Keep this Comment alive!!!

Easy win...Choose the ice water mage, get all your ability maxed, get just about 220 mana, than when its your turn to attack ,mana drain, defend by doing high attack or low blocking and wait to get your level 2 freeze attack, guaranted win
