Easy win...Choose the ice water mage, get all your ability maxed, get just about 220 mana, than when its your turn to attack ,mana drain, defend by doing high attack or low blocking and wait to get your level 2 freeze attack, guaranted win

Chaos mage is a good choice....the GREAt skill of chaos mage that can defeat every clan even the most powerful mage is a) silence, b) make every 1 damage and 3) if low on HP, Trade life. Easy win, try it.

Freeze 2 is way too powerful....They can freeze you for a whole turn and use 6 attacks doing 60 damage. This makes it impossible to beat the clan leader of ice water with most of the clans.

hi! i have a strategy. play as the clan with heal, can't remember.just drain your enemy with mana drain.do not attack.when he is out of mana, high or low attack him. when he gets mana, drain him again. do this until he is DEAD.try to learn heal as soon as possible

its not even possible to win as poison, fire gets 6 bolts, poison has 5.. i was going to be great mage, but some firemage pwnt me

get high and low attack to max, when they attack you attack them in defense and you will either do damage to them or blank out their attack

There is one mage you can't mana drain till end, the Clan Leader of Ice Water, he'll freeze you twice then hit you gor 60 and kill you, regardless of what you do. He just has too much mana.

A really bad glitch...If you're in the Dark Fire Clan, and the enemy does a rest right after you do your "Defense Shield" spell, the game WILL freeze. Tested and proven. Please click the + button to spread on the word!!

The only thing that bugged me throughout the whole game was the spelling and whatnot "only way to find out is to go to" ..Is it just me? Or does this bug other people aswell?

I HAS ULTIMATE TACTICS LISTEN TO THIS
mana leach your opponent to zero then use your highest attack magic then repeat this renders the opponent moveless (ur mana drain has to be higher than enemys rest (like 10-15 mana drain(its best to be sea water or chaos fire clans)

the sequel to this game is great and all but its a little conjfusing...i personally like the chaotic period better than the dark times book of mages

if you choose not to assassinate the great mage, you get knocked down but helped by sea water leader. you have to go to some taverns and fight then go back to sea water clan when you can. then, you get to fight 3 mages at once. if you choose to assassinate the great mage, you just have to kill 2 guards and an apprentice (the apprentice isnt as strong as the guards) and the leaders will assassinate the great mage. your reputation will increace when declining and will degrease when accepting

U guys who think think this game is awesome try book of mages 2 the dark times its really long like 10 times longer then this one. I am being serious completly serious 10 times longer at least and now it has a save button because its so long. 3 save slots actually. and you have titles. and also items that improve you attacks and defends. and many more attacks MANY more. I could sit here ALL day telling you everything its improved but... I will save you the time and tell u just go to nobstudio and play Book of Mages the Dark Times.

awesome when i was in chaos fire clan i almost beat it i was master mage or whateva and clan leader but died fighting the next clan leader and on my poison whater one i was allot weaker oh and on m chaos one i was rank 19 in the book of mages and poison water i was less than 50:(

this game is easy to beat lol just max mana burn and your attacks and always use mana burn first then when they use their attack do the same and keep going back and forth with mana burn and that attack and they will be outta mana and its win

a tip for when you fight ice clan as red:attack with low when they have 8-10 special ability points,they use the minor freeze and it buys you some more time

the problem with this game, from what the other comments say, is that it becomes predictable. something that dosnt marry well with turn based fighting

Um what the hell?1 Is it impossible to win as the poison clan?? The other clans all have one better in either high or low attack and you can not mana burn red leader into submission. Also, the ice leader has a one turn advantage vs a maxed out poison mage.... I get him to 10 mana and he freezes me then high attacks and I die... can't do anything to prevent it.... poison clan sucks.
