Turns out that playing deep sea is also an easy button. for a cheap price of 80 mana you to can return all attacks with interest... or was it 60? Already forgot

The burning clan spell of the chaos fire is broken to all hell. Why use combined attack when you can have each bolt deal 100s of damage by the end of a combo?

@AnnaRussian: Second strongest behind the player mage, Battlebeard, or the Mysterious Hermit of Chaos (who you can fight)?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Shiverhorror's definitely the second strongest mage in the game, but any clan can beat him no problem. Bear in mind you can get over level 200 fairly routinely if you're playing well, so you win out just by raw power more than anything. That said, every faction has super strong focuses/combos that you can abuse.

I got the hard badge before the medium badge, lol, now I need to play again, don't mind at all cuz this is a great game

Massive disapointment. used to love this game and stumbled on it by accident now. found out the hard way that unless you play as poison fire or chaos you cant beat the final ice mage shiverhorror. he just regens against any attack unless it can hit over the regen amount consistently

For those hoping for a sequel, nobstudio mentioned way back in 2012 that they want to start BoM3 but have not given any updates since then. They have been making mobile games unrelated to BoM since 2015 and it's possible that they are more focused on that right now. Either way, I'm a huge fan of this game and would love to see more stuff like this.

Interesting glitch, maybe. If you lose to the secret final boss and then achieve rank 1 again, you don't get back the Ring of All Rings a second time. Makes an attempted rematch with the secret final boss WAY more difficult. Just defeat him the first time, I guess.

I really love this game. I can keep coming back to it whenever I need to leave this world and get lost for a couple hours.

first play through or two is kind of harsh =/ not understanding how game mechanics work really kills the fun of it! its more of an endurance badge than hard. Stick with it and you will eventually love the game!

I think it would be great if someone created a multiplayer version of the game where players could duel each other. It would be lots of fun and players could show everyone that their clan is best!

I finished with -347 reputation (Satan), has anyone ever gotten something lower ? I tried my best to do all the worst possible actions and kill the most people.

poison water is strong but burning hill is also strong. get increase special, combined attack, increase attack, (special) increase attack, high attacking bolts low attacking bolts and any of the other clan spells u want (i recommend having remove effects). Max out skills (increase special especially), have a high mana pool (life to mana distribution should be 1:3) and increase special to 80, then high combine attacks and attack increase skills then use combined attack and it should one shot everyone. This strat allows you to become number 1 in book of mages, great mage in neutral route, possibly beating the 'hermit' and maybe allows you to beat white and black robe stories.

With Decrease Special you can easily dump Iceland and Chaos Deserts Specials to zero for an easy win even without high mana.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You can also easily easily defeat CD with decrease special.
At 20 20 use PW 10P
At 30 30 you block
At 40 40 PW 20P
At 50 50 use paralyze P11
At 60 60 use Decrease Special P4
At 70 40 you take the hit and counter attack, you will lose 20 special but that's ok because you'll still have enough to use DS again. P9 thanks to CA
At 80 50 you use DS again. Now on the next turn CD will be attacking with only 30 special. You get more poison counters from counterattacks and can repeat using decrease special to Chaos Deserts Special to 0 then 10 at the start of each turn.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Against Iceland at 60 60 you should have 20 poison counters on IL, use decrease special and IL Special will go down to 30 then 40 at next turn start. After his attack on this turn you should have Poison 18 thanks to counter attacks. At 70 50 you use decrease special again and now IL special on the next turn is 30, you'll get even more counters now, then then when IL special is 40 you use decrease special once again and now he's at 20 next turn and so on. If you use decrease special and counterattacks you can easily dump Icelands special to zero and never worry about getting hit by Freeze defend.

PlayerD Poison Water is indeed a strong clan. Something I notice about discussions on Poison Water is that nobody mentions the power of Decrease Special. Even without high mana you can easily defeat any Chaos Desert or Iceland mage using it. I'll post some details why.

Poisoner is pretty strong but boring. You can just spam his unblockable poison special and use paralize to counter any strong attack. Early on it even ends fights quite fast. You just need some manapool to deal with dispel and some HP to not get oneshotted by ice stun(or something similar). It's probably convenient to have finisher and poison cap at 40 for it later on. It doesn't even matter much what other spells or spelldmg you have.

Best Gameplay Experience:
1. Go Iceland
2. Go Black Robes
3. Kill Iceroot (who is your magic master)
4. The town drunk steps in...

Who do you guys think is the toughest NPC mage to beat (excluding the Mysterious Hermit)? I'd say it's Burnstorm of Burning Hill (though Shiverhorror comes close). Unless you're from Chaos Desert, you can't output the same level of damage he can (around 800, in a combine attack). Great Sea can reliably defeat him with Absorb Damage if they have very high mana. And of course, other Burning Hill mages of high level and skill as well. Otherwise he's a pain in the ass, with his mana shield and burning attacks and remove effects ability.

The following years, BOMBER ordered to hunt down and execute all those who opposed White Robes"
NO NO NO I fking didn't. Of course i didnt spare the main vilain just to save the idiots that wilingly drunk the poison but this doesn't mean i would become a tyrant later.

This game is one of, if not the, greatest free games i have ever played. I am baffled to see that it STILL dosn't have a 3ed edition.

Another Char of Mine:
Name: Blazescorcher
Clan: Burning Hill
Side: Black Robes
Position: GREAT MAGE
Book of Mages Ranking: 19
Fame: Legend (421)
Reputation: Satan (-278)
He was a smart, calculating, pure evil mage from the start. He was the Master of Lies, pretending to be nice, good and respecting of others when the situation done this way would give him the most gains. He knew about the Black Robes since the begining too, being nice to good mages on purpose so they would not resist later on when he was going to recruit them. His plan from the beginning was to overthrow the Great Mage and take his throne to become even more tyrannic. Being calculating and smart though, he knew when it is time to give somebody mercy, that's how he finished the war. He wanted to have the least amount of casualties to happen, so he will have the biggest army possible to protect him.

My Char's Name: Deathfang
My Char's Clan: Poison Water
Side: Neutral
Position: GREAT MAGE
Book of Mages Ranking: 1 (defeated the Mysterious Hermit)
Fame: Legend (366)
Reputation: Good (11)
At the begining he was evil and liked killing, but was always grateful. By the time, he became less and less evil and even became a good person, but still liked killing, until the final moment arrived at the Great Mage election where he finally noticed how bad killing is and stopped killing anybody. His dream was to become the Great Mage and be recognized as the most powerful Mage in the World.

Amazing game, it's definitely underrated. Too bad that Part 3 will probably never be made, but still, to this day this game is really fun, interesting and has a lot of endings, possibilities and situations you can take part in.

Winning an attrition battle as a poison mage. I emptied the full bar of mana of both fighters (630 mine, 810 theirs) Based on Poison wave and paralysis.

the first time i played greatsea it really confused me but after looking into the niddy griddy of it you realize than you can bypass there attacks by just having to many defensive shots out and if they try and nuke you, you can just go... O you just shot a 500+ damage attack at me? well ill take that and raise you my attack ontop of that as well. the funnest part is watching the Last True fight (like if you know who im talking about P.s. author) but watching a chaos mage goto brute force you as you just take everything it has and just give it right back as a 3000+ hit

Each Clan by its own right is overpowered if you figure out the trick to playing it. Chaos with its brute force fire attacks, Burning hills with its quick mega charge into a nuck, Dark wood with its reverse suicide trick (get yourself to 30 hp than use trade life into blood bath gg you win), Ice with anti def to brute force down there target, Posion with its tricks to a quick instant kill, and imo tied if not better than chaos is Great Sea,
