I love this game, it's one of the few games I've given five stars on Kongregate and it really deserves it. It's great. I'm just finishing like my fifth full play-through, at least fifth, and I still love it though I'm currently kind of wishing there was an option to join the Black Robes and be good, betraying them later.

If and when you get to rank #1 of the Book of Mages, you can start pestering the Mysterious Hermit until he decides to fight you. I warn you though, he is extremely powerful.

Nuetral leaning on white robes has to be the best ending imo.
Tip: If fighting Poison and ice clan members rush them.Great Sea completely counters burning hill and chaos desert.

I've only played as 3 of the 6 clans so far[ice, chaos fire and dark wood]
but I have already noticed there is little strategy after the young mage contest ends because by this point or slightly after you have 10s on all 4 basic atk and def plus 5s on the bonus atk and def. All thats left is manipulate your clan only skills to win or construct a massive spell wall and 1 shot your foe after vary little damage has been done.

This game has grabbed a hold of me, it's so good. I've earned every Title, played at least thirty times, and still plan on going. I think I have found the most underrated game in all of Kongregate history. This is a hidden gem, and one of the best Turn-Based RPGs I've played. Props to NobStudios. Make a sequel... we believe in you.

This needs to have a PvP. The AI have no sense of strategy. They all do the same thing over and over again. I think a PvP would give more depth to the game.

Fun mode to consider when playing Burning Hill. Use normal attack and click on "increase power of attacking bolts" first and "Mana attack" second. Now repeat above process by click off. Spam it for greater power boost and launch it as a combined attack! p.s. Not a bug, it's simply a mathematics equation: 2(x+5) > 2x+5

Pick ICE for Balanced and Tactical specials; CHAOS for Suppressive and Offensive fire power.
Max attacking bolts with some base damage, HP and MP will help you pass the young mage competition easily.

There are only 2 types of gamers in this world. The entire world, not just some site or a country. THE WORLD. Those that understand this game and love it. They are the white knights, those that forge onwards and explore the boundries of skill and tactics. And those that drown in their own rage over their own lack of understanding of this game. they are the haters, the ragers, those that make chat more toxic and volitile then an active Nuclear powerplant without cooling fluid or failsafe. look through comments. you only find those two types of people with just 1 or 2 ambigious few

MOOOOORE!!! I can't remember the last time i felt as epic as when i killed about 10 Black Robes in the battle, saving around 5 of my allies and being opposed only once. I NEED more. Its funny how strong Chaos Desert is: as a level 120 (which is fairly low, had 50+ points in reserve), i managed to beat up everybody in the game who i could, including the mysterious hermit.

playing as a great sea mage, challenging the great sea leader seemed like it would make for a difficult battle. then it turned into us repeatedly using absorb damage against each other until one of us ran out of mana. not quite the epic conclusion I was hoping for.
