to idiots who dont understand the big deal about SOPA (10isphan ): The act makes copyrighted material subject to censorship, including things like youtube videos. If there are copyrighted materials on Youtube, they will have permission to SHUT DOWN YOUTUBE. This goes for Facebook, too. The goal is to stop piracy, but to do that, you have to destroy a lot of outlets for creativity. Have fun being naïve and thinking that it will magically stop piracy and not affect anything else.

Wait! That title screen, the blue background, the sound effects, and those ground tiles all look a bit too similar to Super Mario Bros. for my liking. I need to report this to SOPA! Sorry, but you can say goodbye to this clearly copyright-infringing game and to Kongregate for hosting it.

@circlesniper - because it is a brilliant game.... if the SOPA and PIPA were to pass in the American Legislature then games remotely close to actual copyrighted games would have the site hosting said infringing material SHUT DOWN, no trial no fine no explanation, just BOOM! gone... leaving a crater of dead creativity to fester

If SOPA passes, a more likely result will be that Kongregate will have to either shut down, or stop accepting game submissions from unknown programmers and comments from players. If charges were leveled that someone (player or developer) posted anything copyrighted, Kongregate could be shut down until they prove in court that it isn't true. Nothing that isn't thoroughly vetted by Kongregate could be posted.
