I'd love if you could take items from the ship cargo into your inventory, it'd be really convenient if you wanted to bring some iron just in case you took any damage, etc.

It would be nice if either some of the research requirements were higher, or required later. I spent the entire game pushing against my heat-floor, and mostly played ice planets so I could go deep enough to tech-up.

Loved damn near everything about this - very good execution from the gameplay to the incremental upgrades to the art and sound to the subtle in-jokes. Agree that building late game things can feel tedious. My suggestion: as others said, if you have all the raw mats, auto-build, but show each part being made, one after another (tink-tink-tink-tink-tink-tink-tink!). Ought to look and sound fairly cool (esp. if you have a different sound for each build). // The aberrant matter / gloop were kinda dissatisfying; I could never vibrate enough rock around an aberrant to open it, and dynamite was trivial to use anyway. Meanwhile, gloop was all too easy to just drill to.

Really nice game, just like Motherload with more. The one main drawback as has been mentioned by others, the need to go back to create the sub items to make an item needed to upgrade, why cant it do it automatically, if it didnt have a badge to get all the upgrades I wouldnt have bothered!!!

Finally managed to get the Engineering Bay...it just hit me how much there is to do here. I agree with Luis' comment that you should consider expanding this a bit more and possible getting it available as a Xbox Live Arcade/PSN download. I would get it, personally.

I notice that when you have ten of an usable item (like the teleporter), and craft another, it uses up the materials, but your count does not go up.

I don't seem to be able to craft the Unbendable Titanium Bar, the option isn't there at all, or the ingredients... I can craft everything else now, just not that :-/

I could see this game as an arcade game on the Xbox and PS3. A few minor changes, like adding new features or the like, would be cool if you did manage to launch it as an arcade game on one (or both) ofthe consoles.

I'm downright amazed by this game. Smooth gameplay, polished in every corner, deep and complex without being overbearing. Easy five stars.

I saw a lot of comments about the ending being bad, but I don't really think so. It's obvious that the whole point of it is to setup for a sequel. If it wasn't for that it would be a bad ending, especially with all the buildup the log files made. Great game though. 5/5

I have a soft spot for games like this, and this is easily the best mining/collection game I've played. It does suffer, however, on the story level--having the videos be available in a random order (they're tied to specific artifacts) was a perplexing choice, since it kills any sense of progression in the story. The story also lacks any real conclusion, being little more than a hint for a sequel. As for the mechanics, I would have greatly preferred the crafting system to automatically create sub-items rather than having to micro-manage that (perhaps unlocked when you upgrade some component to 5?).

Actually, I just thought of something for replay value: have a "high score" mode at the end. If you complete the game, you get access to a new resource called "money" or "points" or something that you can craft existing resources into (say the recipe is 5x each gemstone or 5x each level 3 metal bar). Maybe make it so you get more in-game badges for getting certain thresholds of points, or maybe some bonus log entries, or something.

The ending was...interesting. I take it there's a sequel in the works? Please let there be a sequel in the works. I loved playing this game, although I agree that it has low replay value. On my personal scale, it's a 4.75/5, so I gave it a 5.

I enjoyed the beginning of this game the most, as building the 6 modules gave the most dramatic differences in gameplay.

I dont really get the point of this game. Its probably well done for what it is, but their doesn't seem to be any real challenge or opposition, just repetitively collecting materials.

Very well made game. Enjoyed it much, though sometimes crafting was a bit copious. 5/5 Also enjoyed the videos that added to the storyline and overall purpose.

I rather liked the game and spent quite a few hours crafting everything... but it has zero replay value. Once you're done crafting, that's it. No reason to go dig up an entire planet anymore... which made me a little sad.

At first, I hated this game. I found it boring and stupid. But then I opened up the engineering bay. Days later, I found myself addicted. I find myself mining a single planet bare before moving on just for pure pride. 5 stars! I just wish there was more. Maybe enemies. Maybe puzzles. This sorta reminds me of Descent from way back in the day...

Hurray for the craft x5 option! Although... Would it be possible to have a craft all option? After gathering 300plus small emerald silvers... my mouse is a bit worn out form all the clicking...

hey i was wondering that when i put down a teleporter you are not able to pick it up again so can you make it be able to pick it up thank you but other than that its a great game played it for ages
:D

I agree, the part i was stuck on was finding titanium.. I had to go to a level dangerous for me in order to find it, and the upgrades to make that level safe for me needed titanium.

People complaining about jump height should use transporter pads. The pads bring the robot back to its ship instantly and are quite cheap.
