Great game. It feels very lonely at times though. Having to find the hidden items was starting to drive me nuts with only cooling lvl 3 (perhaps a balance issue here, or perhaps it was an intended difficult point). On a glacial planet you can get down to the 150 - 170 range to look for hidden items if you have level 3 cooling, and since hidden items only show between 150 and 250 range, the 20ish rock range sometimes held an item for me, and sometimes it didn't. Only when I had two items left to find did it finally give me the correct materials for cooling level 4.

How about an upgrade to the Dynamite that allows you to modify its blast shape. Rather than the standard Bomberman pattern, players could probably utilize a directed blast more often. Or a two way blast, or a large 3x3 square.

How about another module like a thumper that you can lay down that causes constant vibrations. For those spots where there's nowhere to dig around lava and you don't want to just catch boiling pellets?

I loved motherload when I was younger, and still play it at regular intervals, so when I saw this game I jumped at it, but with not much hope.
To my infinite pleasure, it was amazing beyond my dreams! Some things could be better of course, but it's not really big enough to affect the game in a big way. The only real drawback for me, was that I thought there was not enough story. But taking the ending into consideration, I'm expecting a sequel! ;) 5/5!

This game is meh. I cannot look past the absolutely garbage crafting UI. You really made it inconvenient to craft.
I don't like it that much.

about 5 planets in a row, no new artifacts found (explored each entirely)
I haven't found 7 or 8 of them still, and it's taking that long to find one? (keep finding recipes for iron/gold/etc bars; things I already have.)
Aaaand I'm done with this, then.

@grungi99, maybe you were on a different type of planet? You can go deeper down on the glacial planets than you can on the volcanic ones

The menu navigation when you want to craft something is a huge pain in the butt. Got to Engineering menu - Find upgrade you want - look at items you need - look at item you need to craft item - craft one of them - repeat for EVERY SINGLE ITEM YOU NEED FOR THE MAIN ITEM - repeat for EVERY SINGLE MAIN ITEM. It even took long to type that. Now imagine the player doing it.

Very good game. Though it's a bit too long and repetitive... Farming for ressources was ok but then farming for the items that enables new parts (ipod, etc.) was too much (and it took me a while to understand it). 5 hours would be more than enough.

@BigEpi you do realize that everytime you visit another planet they are randomly generated and so each time you get different types and stuff ...

I'd say that an interesting situation that will require use of consumables is to surround a valuable or needed resource with hard rocks.

Would you be able to add enemies such as drones and such to fight against? Perhaps laser/ballistic weapons you create with your resources to add more to the fun.

Yout took Motherlode and made it into something awesome! The build menu gets tedious but overall this game is stellar. For anyone that gets stuck at the bottom, either run out of fuel, or travel to a new planet. You lose your inventory, but at least you get out.

Fantastic! Just about done with my 2nd playthrough. The planet-to-planet jump is a great next step for the old Motherlode (as is the teleport back to ship, which is mighty, mighty useful). Good evolution of story. Wouldn't mind a little more music variation, but hey--can't complain! 5/5

This may be a stupid question, but it's not obvious to me. How do you beat the game? I have all artifacts, and upgraded all subsystems. I thought getting everything would be how it counts as a win, but sadly it has not. I read all the videos now, and it says I'm trying to find the planet all these things are from, and that I can now triangulate the location. However I see no indicator on my map that points the way to this planet.

It would be nice to be able to craft a complex item (especially upgrades) with a single click instead of having to first build each sub-component separately. Towards the end, the level 5 upgrades take numerous different assemblies and sub-assemblies that take a long time and a lot of clicks to complete. I did not bother getting all level 5 upgrades despite having dozens or even hundreds of each basic resource because some of those complex assemblies are frustratingly tedious, like the "Stabilizer Array".
This begs for a sequel with nice improvements, water worlds, and a continued story.

I love this game. I have a few suggestions. There should be a cost or penalty to travel, to give players an incentive to fully explore each planet. Also, I'd like to see a profit motive. There should be a commodity trading and selling function, instead of having the minerals used exclusively as commodities. Pimping out the ship should be the beginning of the game, not the end goal.

So it's telling me I can't upgrade my ship until I build the engineering bay which requires lava that's too far down for me to get to without taking damage. I have no idea what to do. Help?

I love this game, more then I loved MotherLoad. I thought that was an awsome game, and so I played this :P
But I kind of miss a toggle button on the mini map, so you can toggle what you like to find, when it was fully upgraded I had really big problems in seeing what was what...

In the end, I was clicking my way through a tree of subparts to construct a single subpart. Making a semiconductor is a killer! Perhaps adding a button to just create the item, if the resources are available?
5/5 for an interesting game (and end). Will there be a sequel?

I think I and other players need some explanations about The Time Left. What is it for? If someone knows, can he tell me in Pm please? ^^

Just collected all the lost items, upgraded the ship and the driller to full, but i see no ending. i checked the galaxy map and there is no new location (besides the regular ones) Otherwise a GREAT game

I think, when you refill the tank and repair the hull near the mother ship, it should also empty the inventory and save the game, so you don't have to open and close the ship each time you unearth materials.

I started out slowly with this game, as I didn't understand how to craft larger resources from smaller resources (user error!), but once I figured that out I took off from there. This game completely sucked me in... The gameplay was great, and I really enjoyed the fact that to get ahead I had to take risks (i.e. delve down into really hot temperatures) to grab a new type of resource that I needed to research new items (i.e. silver, gold, and titanium). I'm actually kind sad that it's over, but I'm looking forward to the sequel... Hint hint!

I also thought of dig dug =)
I might suggest setting a blank cookie to start the game the FIRST time with "continue" rather than having to do the tutorial again? no big. ;)

@Gkeko: The recipes only appear once. Once you built using the recipe in the research tab, then the newly created item goes straight into the cargo bay and you need to make further units of that material from there. Once you make sufficient quantity (like 5 or 6) of the larger clump, you will unlock the recipe for the even bigger clump.

Dear God. I saw 'Inspired by MotherLoad' and this instantly became my favorite game. MotherLoad was my game as a small child! As soon as I begun playing that's what I thought of! I love you people for this game. Truly <3
