I don't get it, why do so many of the older games lag for me now? I remember playing this when it was new, and it certainly didn't lag every time I blew up a car back then.

Game is enjoyable in a mindless grindy kind of way. Seemed a bit easy but that generally comes with grind games. I liked the whole 'War of the Worlds' feel it had.

In response to Xagran's comment, in the book the tripods could be taken out with a lucky hit by canon shot, which makes some sense as their armour is heavily optimised against their own tech and probably haven't seen use of kinetic weapons in centuries. The point in the book is that tripods are nimble/fast enough so that you only ever get that one shot, so most kills mentioned are from ambush situations.
But enough of the book, nicely done game :)

friendly tip: you can restrart previous level to get more coins for upgrade. i didn't realize that after i beat level 15.. and i have to restart the progress everytime i think that i choose the wrong upgrade and can't proceed...

I'm not sure how anyone could not feel unstoppable. After a few upgrades to the shield recharge and ray damage you will never see your shield go down.
Great game and one of few I stayed around long enough to earn all in-game awards.

For years I got to watch war of the worlds, now I get to play it! I love the concept of adding upgrades, and venturing throughout the days to obtain more credits! I rated this game 5/5.
