Officially, these guys are the most awesome people ever. 40 zombies vs 6 guys with pistols, and they don't back down?

so they lack the discipline to stand their ground to the end but they will refrain from firing anything until told to do so when being charged by 28 zombies?

Great game. The graphics are great for a game this old, and the overall mood and atmosphere is just inspiring. Overall, I would say this is a great game. Although, I will say that mission 6 was incredibly frustrating for me because, nine times out of ten, I would lose due to my fire teams suffering a chain of retreats, as in, one retreats because there are too many zombies attacking, they get away only for the squad that was right behind it to suffer the exact same thing. I will say this, however. When what I can only presume was the Commander showed up in a giant mech, that was awesome beyond words, and oh so satisfying to watch it mow through hordes of twenty + zombies.

this is just as epic as the last stand at sparta. "Sir, there seems to be 5000 hostile zombies ahead. What do we do?" " Get in there and melee those damn zombies!"

And in order to counter the massive negative karma my last comment generated:
The last level is very hard, especially if your tank squad starts out with just 3 rifles (happened to me a lot- it means they can't kill big zombie groups). You want to stagger your line and have the tank lead with the rest on mop-up. It's very important to keep going forward, so even when your rifle squads retreat, you can afford to lose ground. I've found its best to immediately start firing and backing up to maximize the damage you can do, and a 5 man tank group can kill 30 zombies (usually with a charge at the end). The destroyer you get is really slow and comes late, so you cant rely on it. Just focus on getting the tank as far forward as possible with no losses. Also, being on a map where you have a lot of open space (not forest) helps a LOT, since all your squads will kill zombies more effectively.

I really want another damn Autumn War game! This game (in my opinion) is a awesome flash game classic with a cool idea. I was super hyped when I heard of autumn war 2 (Survivor is not autumn war 2,to clear confusion) and was so sad when the developer disappeared without notice and has not returned. But after I saw he last played Survivor 2 months ago I let out a little hope. So this is a message to you Oreo47. Please tell us that you are at least not dead and give a explanation. I understand that good games takes years to develop, but please come back soon.

i had one guy pull out a knife, then 25 zombies jumped and killed everyone else, but that one guy killed them all with his knife and lived, i want to give him a medal.

Now that this game has been out FOREVER, you should make a second one using the same basic code but add a multiplayer (soldiers v soldiers), mission selector (advance, defend, harass), and if your feeling up to it maybe even a map maker.

@hssts50414 Its because some players might want there soldiers to fire when the zombies are closer for more accuracy and so they dont waste ammo and or time since there is a pause between shots. if a soldier shoots and misses it takes time for him to fire again.. that can mean the diff between a win or lose battle.

Hey man, how is progress going on autumn war 2? suggestion:maybe find survivors to help out? like finding a stranded soldier or an abandoned bunker for a defensive hold over the area, I dunno, just an idea

itd be cool if a squad could gain experience after each zombie it kills, making it easier to kill the next zombie. Sorta like an upragraded squad if ya get what i mean. More experience = more skill = easier to kill zombies and faster at it

well, I figured out the one and only situation where you actually don't want to click "fire" right away. If you are in cover and you engage a zombie group that is at least 75 ish range away from you, you'll notice that the zombies won't start running until you click fire. While the zombies are walking, you can retreat and the zombies won't follow you across the map. Also, if you order your guys to walk backwards, they will match the zombies' walking speed. This means that if you have a vehicle with an explosive cannon, you can walk backwards for 5 seconds or so and THEN click fire, and your cannon will be able to fire right away instead of having to wait.

Great concept on this game. I had low expectations at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. Great job! I hope you take a serious interest in improving this one or making a sequel if you have not already done so! :)
