@yash92: You need to take off one blue and one red on each iteration of the loop. You'll need to find a way to "remember" where the beginning of the input is each pass.

this game is unbeatable, i did a solution exp. LVL 2, i did the if more than three blue and it gave me B,B,R,B then i changed the third part to red and it became B,B,B

This is amazing. I was stumped on the second level. But then as if the heavens parted and god shoved an encyclopedia into my esophagus it hit me twas not difficult at all but I had to think outside the box. so thank you creator for creating something that has indeed made me feel like a genius.
5/5 10/10 favourited and would play again!

How do you even do the levels, every time I change the level to account for what I got next it changes the string... why game
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Never mind, I found the walkthrough and get it now. I thought that you could only feed it in at the top, not back into the side it came out of.

Am I overthinking Robolamp? What if there's a string of 100 reds, and then 3 blues at the end? Is there a length limit?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"Hey, that lava lamp was fine."
"How do you know?"
"It had 3 blues."
"Who are you to say what is right? Since I am the only (and most senior) tester, I am the leading authority. And I think all of them are bad. "
"Bu-"
"Shh..."

I just noticed that there actually is a statistic "time units per test". You can see it in the "Success!" screen after completing a level. This should have been shown on the main menu rather than "Best time" in my opinion.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I think that the "best time" statistic is trivial the way it is presented. The malevolence engine could create something that would take a very long time to check no matter what you've created and that would be your "best time". For example, on the third level, "Lavalamp", the engine gave me a very long series of red and red only and at the very end of it three blues in a row. I felt like this was meant as punishment, but it wasn't logical, as any working setup would have had to go through that whole series to come to the conclusion that it's alright. It would make more sense to have the statistic "highest decisions/time unit" than "best time". That being said, I absolutely love this (kind of) game

@TreeSlayer7: The only way to fail is to have the first and last colors be different. This obviously isn't the case if the string is empty, so the empty string passes. So does single Blue and single Red.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"ACCEPT: Strings that begin and end with the same color!"
To me, this means that empty strings should be rejected. But it says I should accept them!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Haha... I tried to give an answer with an infinite loop in it, and it's feedback was "The malevolence engine is out of patience" :P

I believe "Robobugs" is bugged. The robots have the thing on their strip that implies you can use a writer on them, but I don't have the option to place such a thing and the engine keeps sending me things that only fail because they have that stupid thing on them

Found the background music, search for 'Shostakovich - Symphony No 9 in E-flat major, Op 70 - Spivakov' on youtube. 23 minute symphony, what's heard in game starts about 4 minutes in. Beautiful music.

You really should have placed tips about bridges (hold shift while placing conveyor) and flips (press space before placing branch) in tutorial and Controls section. I've redone a couple of tight levels from scratch because I didn't know about flips and bridges >_
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great Game! One thing though: It would be nice if we could swap the colour directions of the Branches when placing. Sometimes that's the only obstacle in making "nice" solutions.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like the game but I wish the maps were larger as they feel way too small and I can't try half the things I could actually make work.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm a computer programmer, and I still don't understand this game. How do you create a short "pulse" with only a not gate and constant voltage?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If they are certain enough of what robots are "good" to correct me when I do it wrong, then why did they hire me in the first place?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
My program almost works, there's just a small error. I know how to fix it, too, but I don't have the space. Maddening.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I lkie how the sequences seem random, but in truth the machine knows exactly what is wrong with my construction and sends the sequences that exploit my error.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@RedTomato wow you are right, the level isn't testing the possibility of an empty string. Trying to check that as you said made my solution much shorter lol.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@RedTomato: I guess this level just isn't tested against empty string. I don't think there's any analysing being done on _how_ you solved a level, it's just tested with specific data - which isn't flawless as you pointed out...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well, maybe I'm not retarded, but have to read more carefully... Question dismissed anyway. Great game, now will be even better with bridges :)
