Dammit Deugan, we had 8 and a half damn minutes and Vehrn took off a fifth of its health each turn; we totally had enough time to take care of it!

So I've played through this (and the whole series) multiple times, and only just now realized that Emela can be equipped with a shield...

+ if you tried jumping in Lake Qur without using the breathing spell. "You're not ready at all, you liar! You can't breathe underwater like that!" I'd give it a 5/5 just for the witty and sarcastic remarks pseudo made. epic series, can't wait for more of them.

if you go to Qur lake after you escape from the battle-ship, and then go to the dock and press "x", You are told "No Mardek! I know the things have been harsh lately, but you've still got so much to live for!!"

Did anyone else see the really obscure joke at the guardpost? The two guards are Mercutio and Tybalt. Mercutio and Tybalt are also the names of two characters in "Romeo and Juliet". The first part of the joke is that the personalities are switched in the game. Tybalt in the play in hot-headed and violent, but is portrayed as earth in-game (level-headed), while Mercutio in the the play is generally calmer, but is portrayed as fire in-game (hot-headed). The second part of the joke is that both of them died in the play. Tybalt kills Mercutio, and Romeo avenges Mercutio by killing Tybalt. Just wanted to chuck that one out there. There are also a couple even more obscure jokes in what the guards say (so obscure, I wonder if they're there on accident). It's funnier if you've read or seen "Romeo and Juliet".

Ok... can anyone actually confirm that it is possible to in fact get 2 keyblades in this game? I have restarted the coliseum 10 times and cannot get the keyblade to drop again.
the keyblade is supposed to have a 50% chance of dropping. So the chances of having it NOT drop after 10 fights is 1/1028. Meaning I have a better chance of getting a natural zodiac spear in FFXII on my first try than my luck with the second keyblade so far.

Tip for second Moric fight: If a single character is very injured, instead of healing them, you can let them die, then when Moric zombifies them you can use Mardek's Remove Taint ability and that character will be back at full health.

If you look in the OPTIONS part of the in-game menu, you would find that there is an option for QWERTZ compatatablility.
If you give a bad rating for that, you shouldn't rate any game, period.

Mardek is about the best RPG that is on this site. First of all because of the intended length, but also the story, the graphics style (and fitting music. love it :) ), and of course the humour
That is not the last element which makes it great, but naming them all would be hard.
I thank you, Pseudolonewolf, the creator of Mardek, for this great gift to the players and Kongregate.

people who don't usually read dialogue in rpg games should do so in this game. the dialogue is not terribly bland and is actually pretty funny at times

I am picky about my rpg's, and yet this extremely simple-looking game kept me awake for hours, just trying to figure it out. 5/5 for epicness, 4.5/5 for originality, and 27.3/5 for ingenuity. well done.

Wow. I am loving this series so far. So much depth, plot, humor, and good ol' RPG action. I can't wait for MARDEK 4-8 to be made.
On a side note, if you read through all the lore, there are some interesting things in there. One of them is about how YALORT's name is always capitalized to show respect to him and because he's a god, and that it's blasphemy to capitalize anything else fully, because that puts them on the same level as YALORT.
However, MARDEK is all caps in the game title... Does this mean that he reaches godhood later in the series? Or does he defeat YALORT eventually? UGH. This raises so many questions!

Another thing that you could miss in a normal game: After beating the Zombie-Shaman, go back to the room where you killed her, and you will find a very useful item for lateron! :)

Wait, so Goznor is overrun with zombies and Jaques just stands around in the castle? That's the kind of thing I'd expect Pseudolonewolf to avoid, or at least have some handwave explanation.

well, fir those who wouldn't have figured it out by now, there are certain skills which can be targeted on multiple units simply by pressing the arrow key of the general direction of the target.(left for offensive and right for defensive)these skills include mardek's heal, vehrn's green lightning and all of the skills of emela.and also we can heal our enemies and damage ourselves by just targetting the specific unit.healing opponents is quiet usefull while fighting undeads, considering that the final boss itself is undead.hope it helps:)

When facing Moric and he uses his Arcane Cataclysm it is overpowered because to instantly KO one of your guys is annoying but all 4 when he is almost about to die is the worst.

@Kaze Koichi yes they do but you probably shouldn't grind anyway because you won' have the same characters in the next chapter

I absolutely LOVE this game and have been a devoted fan since the first episode. Due to my getting a new computer, I had to go back and re-play the first two games so I could my save file on the third. There is apparently some issue with this game and my computer, since adobe flash keeps crashing. Now, it's probably my computer's fault, but I just finished fighting Moric in the catacombs (for the third time in a row) with particularly favorable results, but then adobe crashed before I could get to a save. So I got the idea that maybe if you could include a save feature right after a boss battle, that would be nice, just as a general thing. Plus if you lot out there agree. Also, little pro-tip from the guy who's played each part of the game 11 times, it pays to be thorough and head back to an area after you beat a boss. Thanks for the great game Pseudo and I can't wait for the fourth!

This is the sort of game where you purposefully utilize online storage to circumvent the lack of online saves. Having to start over after getting to chapter 3 bonus dungeon sucks big time.
