Not sure if there was another way but in the catacombs the only way through it by walking through a hidden passage east of a sign. I found it by accident.

Hey guys, heres some things about Mardek.
Mardek is mainly defensive, due to several defensive spells he have. His defensive spells helps a lot (and helps really against Steele. god dammit he was harder than the dragonlord of NES dragon quest)
He doesn't get offensive spells (or does he get?) until Chapter III, so thats why Deugan exists. Deugan is like the offensive counterpart of Mardek, due to his incapability of using shields, a hp bit lower than Mardek, and his SpellBladery is pretty useful against defensive stuff, so yeah. I guess thats it.

Pseudelonewolf is very close to releasing his new Mardek (mobile game now and has quite a lot changes, but I still like it) - it is currently in Beta Phase, but you can register for it on his new website alorafane.com

Not to ruin the tragic sacrifice, but I totally beat the first Dracelon in less time than the 8 minutes I had left on the timer when I encountered the second one :P

not sure if it's been noted, but anyway... vehrn's smite evil attack is disabled in the [enter] menu, but shows a blank selection in battle which can still be used

A little something...weird I noticed. After rohoph, moric, or both have done a decent bit of rambling, the normal text looks a bit grayish red. It's odd.

Goddamn Bartholio. I kill the rest of them and get him down to about 100 hp. Then he goes berzerk and suddenly no one can hit anything.

this is so far the ONLY game i ever played where i save the antidotes cause after a NORMAL RPG game the statics wheres off but not this one it still is in effect so now this will be my first time EVER to use antidotes

If anyone can point me in the direction of the 4th chapter (if it's even out yet), that'll be great. I love this game, and have replayed it at least 5 times.

missing 2 achievements beat the game and the zombie one but i dont know how to save as a png or a jpg :( very upset spent ten hrs on this game.....

So I've played through this (and the whole series) multiple times, and only just now realized that Emela can be equipped with a shield...

Tip for second Moric fight: If a single character is very injured, instead of healing them, you can let them die, then when Moric zombifies them you can use Mardek's Remove Taint ability and that character will be back at full health.

@jorgenslys: that isn't actually true, you get one AP every time you use the skill, no matter what happens afterwards. even if you miss the attack, you'll still increase your mastery over it. as with Reactions, you get AP every time you successfully react, whether or not you hit.

I finished the first two chapters in 6 hours 15 minutes
Now Moving for 3rd chapter I hope it would be very hard than two chapters so I am moving on. I hope I would finish it in nearly 20 hours.

A response to cravingradishes: That corridor becomes EXTREMELY important in chapter 3 for reasons you probably already know and I won't put on here due to the fact that it's in chapter 3, and thus a spoiler at any rate.

for some reason Mardek chapter two wont load for me, sometimes its a blank screen sometimes it loads then just doesnt open the game...its just weird. Mardek Chapter 1 worked for me just fine. Other games that do the same thing to me are Epic battle fantasy 3 and 4, Epic wars 1,2 and 3. Any tips?
