Oh great, we cannot flee from the casual battles during the escape after defeating the final boss. It's almost like as if we were cheating.

"You see, mathematically, since I have no hair, and dividing by zero results in infinity, it shall take an infinite amount of time to wash my hair." I'm still laughing xD

damn, i play this series at least once a year, and it does a damn fine job at being entertaining, even though i've already completed it, i still love playing it, once, twice, thrice, best time waster ever <3

This is the sort of game where you purposefully utilize online storage to circumvent the lack of online saves. Having to start over after getting to chapter 3 bonus dungeon sucks big time.

How convenient that the wild monsters are polite enough to let you take your turn of swiping with your sword before drilling with their face or draining your blood.

when you already assign amulet/accessory to character do not remove / give to other, over the time it'll accumulate resistant. if you remove/give to other, the accumulate resist will be gone and you will have to start over.

I was level 3 when I finished the chapter 1. And then, after 8 years, I'm only level 4... What did they do all these years? Playing RPG video games?

@gdn0919, it means the Zombeism status effect. It's pretty uncommon, but if any of the party die in either of the Moric fights, he "revives" them with full health and a status effect which causes them to target other party members exclusively. They also count as dead for the purposes of game overs. However, if you cure them with either Holy Water or Mardek's Remove Taint ability (learned from the Snakestone in the Tinted Grotto), they lose the zombeism and keep the revival.

The Locksmith looks slightly different than I remember him, is it possible that there is a fractional chance of him having another appearance when fighting him? My memory is terrible, though, so it could be that...

Protip for people starting out that don't mind grinding a bit: If you master a skill that some equipment gives you, you never loose that skill even if you change equipment. So if you spend some time you can get multiple people on your party to have the same skill (usefull for passive resistance boosts.)

One of my main complaints is that Zach is pretty much underpowered and not very useful compared to Vehrn. With the exception of the Grotto and Battleship level, the majority of enemies and bosses are undead. Even with the Boneslicer, Zach can't match Vehrn's damage output against undead enemies and bosses. The Trilobite blade is useless in this (not sure about Mardek 3) as there are few insect enemies and no insect bosses.
For the 1000 coins it takes to hire Zach (which is a lot when you first meet him), he really doesn't offer any advantage, other than a different playstyle.

Oh! almost forgot, remember where I said the third trilobyte key past Moric's first body? Yeah, finish going down that way you'll find that undead dragon. Sadly the guards lied about the secret passage up to the girl's dorm in the castle. :( Please plus up to keep this comment online and give out more 30 point badges.

key 1: found hidden at the Tainted Grotto, you can find it by looking for the chest symbol on the map
key 2: found on a zombie around canonia, random chance item, be patient
Key 3: found in the back of the crypts, past where you killed moric's first body, hidden like the first
Key 4: Now this one was either the easiest and fastest or hardest key to get. Right before you enter the mines you find a grunt named Gope who asks you to spare him, you should. He'll then leave and head to the tavern (or inn if you prefer) in your hometown, just talk to him and he'll give you the first key and says he'll stop being evil. If you killed him you will never get the key so just restart from a point before you did it.
If this helped please plus it up so everyone can see this and get that hard badge.

Starts off with a wall of text that cannot be skipped and stops scrolling when the game looses focus. >.< FFS, stop making games annoying.

Dammit Deugan, we had 8 and a half damn minutes and Vehrn took off a fifth of its health each turn; we totally had enough time to take care of it!

You know what? All this backtracking for 100% completion makes me think that from now on it should be mandatory for JRPGS to have a sprint button.

Not sure if there was another way but in the catacombs the only way through it by walking through a hidden passage east of a sign. I found it by accident.

Hey guys, heres some things about Mardek.
Mardek is mainly defensive, due to several defensive spells he have. His defensive spells helps a lot (and helps really against Steele. god dammit he was harder than the dragonlord of NES dragon quest)
He doesn't get offensive spells (or does he get?) until Chapter III, so thats why Deugan exists. Deugan is like the offensive counterpart of Mardek, due to his incapability of using shields, a hp bit lower than Mardek, and his SpellBladery is pretty useful against defensive stuff, so yeah. I guess thats it.
