played from ch 1- it's a lot better now. The humor is still not funny- too awkward and seems to be uneloquent and silly for the sake of it-- breaking the fourth wall is getting repetitive- but, the graphics are good, I like the idea of equipping skills, and the sidequests are fun. Other than Legend of the Void, I'd say this is the best RPG on kongregate.

You really need to start from ch 1. The tutorial was worse than useless. Played almost to the end of sun temple before I realized gems can be equipped.Leaves out a lot of important things.

Even unfinished it's still the best online flash game there is (imo). Replay it every year, read all dialogue each time, never get bored of it. Simply awesome.

Playing this after a lot of time
Hopefully Pseudolonewolf will make Mardek 4 soon (This is a AMAZING series dont quit)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sadly, Pseudolonewolf rebooted the series in the "taming dreams" game. Which means that there probably won't be another mardek game.
I'd say he should still finish this series, even if it's a shorter game(or at least let someone else do it)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For real though the whole Mardek series is awesome, but damage cap and elemental resistances may be a problem in the next episode lol

Listening to something else while playing (4th time playing this game...) and then, in Saul's dungeon, I see this dialog: Rohoph: "Hm? Do you hear something?" Mardek:"No, because the music's turned off!". Bravo, Pseudolonewolf, you've really thought of everything!!!

@szbnahl There was a secret boss and if you used the warport 5 times, you wouldn't be able to fight it anymore. I actually would like to retract my comment from earlier because the boss wasn't that hard. I was just overreacting and was being a noob.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@SirDerpsALot20XX, there isn't a limit on the number of times you can use the warport. After you've bought five tickets you get a golden pass, which gives you unlimited free usage without having to go through security.

Idle feature in mardek! Take Selenck with Dracal Crescent + Soul Strike... fight with monster which is immune to fire and vulnerable to earth(vulnerable enough to get killed) Then make Selenck Raged by skill/potion... Let your team die and enjoy your exp growing during the night or something! :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
how do i open inventory? and how where is the help button? o.o skipped thru some dialogs and i dont wanna reset the game
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Dear Pseudolonewolf, please do something about the limit of tickets you can buy at the warport. This may sound stupid (and really noobish), but people may need to use the warport multiple times (as in more than 5 times) because they are legitimately stuck. I probably sound like a whiney and selfish asshole, but increase the limit so everyone, including stupid people (like me XD) can complete the game it enjoy it to it's fullest potential.
*Sorry if this is pretty long!

If you need to level people up and you haven't beaten the earth temple yet, Legion can use Spirit Nova to OHKO the golems that attack you when you fail the puzzle for thousands of easy XP points.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you're trying to grind up infrequently used characters up to comparable levels, I have the most efficient way to do it.
Equip them with an elemental weapon, and have them attack Mardek while equipped to absorb that element. They will get more XP per hit than anything other than grinding on Pixies in the Pixie Spring in the Dream Wood.

And to think... this game franchise is going to be ruined by some pacifist bullcrap that Pseudo thinks is good. The character design in the new "rebooted" series is trash, the gameplay will basically be a Pokemon rip off (not like there aren't enough of those already). Thanks autism, you've ruined another great thing.

I couldn't believe the names of the two guards that are by Donovan's side when you finish the last battle... Rosencrantz and Guildenstern... As in Hamlet. I wonder if this is trying to tell us something...? Anyway, Pseudolonewolf's attention to details truly makes him a great artist, and Mardek, his magnum opus. Congratulations for such an amazing work!

I really loved this game but my saved data suddenly got lost. I did not delete history nor did i change the browser. I found that very dissapointing as i had reached the earth temple. Is there any way to recover the lost save data? I would really appreciate if anyone helps me with this.

Wow. Just wow. Remember back when we all thought 8 damage was a crit? Back in the first chapter, things were simpler. Now there's all these Legions, Solaars, and S'Slencks of complication. Ah yes, the good old days.

To people asking questions related to the game, many of them are answered in the walkthrough found on this site except for one of the temples, a superboss, minor things such as crafting, and a few other trivial things. If you want an answer on how to find something in the story, that would be a good place to look. You can also check out just about any LP or walk-through as well, or even the fighunter wiki to get answers as well. Also, as for temple order, I would suggest: Water, Fire, Earth... at least, that's how I go about it.

@Azamra18:
You can grind for money by equipping the Golden Crown gotten by defeating King Cuthbert (Sandflow caves midboss) or crafting it in Xantusia, and activating the Double Gold passive effect.
Pixie dust is dropped by, ahem, pixies (in Dreamrealm), and the Serpent Crest is dropped by the Serpent in the Axolotl cave in the Water Temple.
Lifewood Monastery can only be accessed if you have Vehrn. You can recruit him from the Aeropolis Yalortian Temple, and head east from the central Dreamcircle in Lifewood.

Hi all! I love this game, but I've gotten stuck. Done everything in Aeropolis, but I've run out of money in order to buy all alchemical ingredients. Can't find pixie dust or serpentine crest--where do I get them? Also, where is Lifewood monastery?

Sadly, Pseudo stopped working on MARDEK. Instead, he works on a remake called "Taming Dreams". The first 3 chapters are availible on Android and soon on iOS.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I just hope pseudo isn't overworking himself with the new chapter if he is working on it,we wouldn't want to see this series coming to an end so soon

Glitch found: in the earth temple puzzle room(s), try talking to your teammates. the dialogue appears to be the same but the face is still Mardeks,

For Royal knights, Donovan and Sharla are really under leveled for this mission. Considering that the enemies are about 5 levels higher than them in the start. Good thing I've pretty much focused all my levels in the last two chapters into Mardek, so he can carry the squad! The mages are so squishy... The three lizard encounters generally end with Sharla or Donovan dying immediately...

Well, Spoilers, but Deugan stayed behind to fight off a mech/zombie/dragon so that the rest of the party could board escape pods to escape Moric's batttleship before it crashed. Emela ended up deciding to leave the royal guard to go adventuring somewhere after Deugan's death...

That moment... when you find out... your safe of Mardek III... that was carried all the way from Mardek I... is... gone... I... I'm going to lay down for a moment...

The story so far so people stop asking:
Chapter I: a spaceship from the planet Anshar crashes into Belfan and is discovered by Mardek and Deugan. The dying Annunaki on board, Rohoph, is forced to transfer his soul to Mardek.
Chapter II: years pass and the boys are training at Goznor Castle. They team up with Elemancer Emela to complete a mission at the neighbouring town, Canonia. There, they find the local Shaman's been zombified by another Annunaki named Moric.
The heroes return home to find zombie villagers everywhere, and enter the sewers to fight Moric. However, his soul transfers to the dead hero Social Fox. He escapes to his spaceship over Canonia. The heroes chase and defeat a now-insane Moric. Deugan sacrifices himself during a self-destruct sequence so the others can escape.
Chapter III: Mardek, now a Royal Guard, works with fellow thaumaturgists Sharla and Donovan to take care of strange happenings in the Light Temple, only to uncover serious developments closer to home...

can't say deugan died... but in the battle with the green darkness boss.. Rhobob whatever... after they defeated Rhobob (with the Fox hero body) then the battle ship self-destruct timer. deugan stall by fighting the undead mechanic guard dog so they can escape using ship pod. deugon thought to be dead in the battle ship.

ahahaha... I finished chapter 2 with the rest using only the starter items. I guess I am lucky that the last boss enemy skill that have black miasma didnt gave any damage at all. Twice at that... I even managed to run away...

This and Epic Battle Fantasy 4 are the best turn-based RPGs ever made.
All praise our lord and savior, Pseudolonewolf.

Such a fantastic game... words cant even describe the exhilaration and excitement I feel when I'm playing this story. Pseudolonewolf is a truly marvellous game developer!

This may interest people who keep losing their save files:
Every time you clear your browser's or computer's history, no matter what you're using (whether it be Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or otherwise), your save data will be DELETED and will be very difficult to recover! So if you want to prepare for playing this game and have a lot of... stuff... on your computer, then your data will be wiped.
I'm not sure this is 100% accurate, but every time I've done this, my save data has disappeared, so it may be something to note.
Also, this series is done now, and the developer is making 'Taming Dreams' and some game called 'Cultivate'... they're VERY different from what you'd expect of the developer's past titles, as Taming Dreams take a rather wild spin on the older games (almost like a retelling), but if you want something different, I'd try it out!
