This game is infuriating, the backtracking is terrible and in 2 occasions this week all of my progression was deleted when I was already near the end.

AAAUGH!!! I just realized that you have to win the impossible badge BEFORE you fight the King at Castle Goznor! I didn't keep a saved game from before the fight, so now I'll have to go back to the beginning to get the badge—NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
BTW, if people like this game, they'd probably like the World's End series too. It rocks.

*SPOILERS* (may reduce the challenge, but may also save you a few hours trying to figure out what to do next) 1. When Gloria advises Mardek to go to the lake alone, he should take her advice. 2. When the inventor in Goznor says he'd like to see a shaman, take Gloria to see him. 3. Since the mission to find the monastery was given to Vehrn, you won't be able to find it without him. 4. Legion is the one that knows the password to get in.

Holy shit if mardek 4 comes out in any way or form i would literally get a heart attack im one of the biggest fanes of the MARDEK series and it would be a blast to play the contiuation even if not the originial intenton, but you get the point. I i will freaking praise whoever continues the series YALORT level. but still Tobias is the MVP for making succh an awesome game. still my favourite after 10 years of me playing it. Nothing i played over the past decade comes near to MARDEK's brilliance. best games of 2017, imean actual games made by companies, not flash games like PUBG, Breath of The Wild, Resident Evil 7 will never be better in my heart tha MARDEK. if i would win the lottery i would literally donate a huge amount to Tobias and whoever finishes this franchise, because this is a masterpiece, a work of art no one else could copy, my boy Tobias is a genius period

@Too_ManyCats We don't need Tobias for the Plot. We can do it like we think it would be. In fact, if you analyse the dreamstones we could create the ENTIRE PLOT on our own. we might need to add something, but the Plot should be the least problem.
Of Course we spoiler ourself with the plot, but I would be ready to take the hit if we can finally finish this great game

I have personally been writing down ideas (such as weapons, dungeon maps, dialogue, e.t.c.) for the next few chapters for the past 6 months-or-so now. After analyzing the plot, I think I know what would have *probably* happened, but the only way to know is to ask Tobias. I doubt he would share about it, though, with people-after all, its already been 8 years since the game came out. He is currently suffering through depression. He once said on Fig Hunter that he would like to work with a small group of like minded individuals, but with his Social Anxiety, I don't think having a huge number of people working on it would be a great idea.

@rexhepi816 Great idea, but getting everyone to do it would ruin the surprise and mystery. Also, the plot twist would not be as effective with *that* many people working on it.

Well the Steele RPG spin-off is incomplete including just one quest and a new area not seen in the mardek games... And if I am not wrong the creator himself stated in the description that he won't complete it... I love this game. It's a game I keep coming back to because of its sometimes immature, sometimes thoughtful, and always entertaining humor, the characters all feel special, and because I can nerf a boss so hard it can't do damage to me.

I really do wish Pseudo would release the script (at least roughly) for the rest of this. It is a shame he is not continuing it but that is his decision, however any fan spin offs would just have me wondering what the "real" story was meant to be. As a writer I can understand being disappointed with an old story though; I have a few I wouldn't be too keen on sharing, let alone finishing.

@RaresB5 Too_ManyCats Honestly MARDEK was going towards a more spiritual ideology. Qualna is a perfect example of moral ambiguity; he willing plays the role of the villain, but does so to teach a lesson. His aims were noble and good, and he took the dark road to do so. Granted, he was probably under the impression that Rohoph wouldn't kill a king to win...
Now that I think about it, the best spin offs would be
1. Deugan/Emela between Chapters 2 and 3 2. Enki (any point) 3. Legion's souls 4. Clavis, assuming he is an actual person who willingly worked with Qualna 5. Steele. Not really. That guy sucks. 6. Social Fox? 7. Sslen'ck's backstory (probably would involve the Blacksmith, one of the ship crew (for non-earth/fire element), and maybe the Dark Guardian). 8. Sharla and Donovan, Chp 2-3

I found on the fig hunter a spin off called Steele RPG you can still find screenshots that look super cool and it was about Steele after the mine and what he did until we meet him in Chapter 3 in The Dark temple....Unfortuatly the file is either corrupt or it was deleted so i hope some of you can help by i dont know contact the authors or if you have a copy or something its so bad that it is no longer available because the screenshots look great so have a look on fig hunter

He says that he made Mardek when he was a teenager and that now that he is more mature that his tastes have changed and no longer sees things as black and white and that he likes a more spiritual approchment to games I hope my post answears your question

@AkiraAgnar Therefore a spin off. Maybe he will miraculously decide to finish Mardek one day, but a spin off about something else in the story (say Enki or Deugan or something) would still be theoretically viable.

@Too_ManyCats: I applaud you for this, but then again in a way no one can truly finish the game, it is best left like this. What I WOULD suggest is trying to work with Pseudo to try to make a spin-off, unless he already finished the planned games script. You could probably try to make one about Deugan's travels between 2 and 3. Or maybe Enki (Mardek's father) before he settled down. Of course, it would be best to make it based on a script Pseudo made lest it become a butchered mess of a fanfic which adds in some more gameplay but really doesn't carry enough of the game's true spirit (ever played FFIV the After Years?). Either way, I'd be happy to help and give ideas. You also might want to look at the Figverse wiki (the Mardek wiki) and see if you can get the remains of the community on there to help you contact him. Best of luck, I hope you succeed.

@konakai4 I'm quite serious about it, I think it would be a great idea to complete the series. Getting Tobias to work on it as well could help with his depression, by doing something that he used to love doing.

Pseudolonewolf has abandoned Mardek to work on Taming Dreams. If I got his permission (which is near impossible, since he is not currently on any forms of social media), I could finish up the series.

A great game, but also a strong example of excessive content. The first dungeon takes longer to complete than the entirety of Mardek 2, and you can't even leave it until you've finished the quest line. You could play for a whole day without even seeing the map screen.

Guys, Pseudolonewolf said on FigVerse Wiki that he plans to start Mardek 4 after Alora Fane: Creation is finished. However, the game probably won't be released for a while, as Alora Fane is not near being completed, and big games like Mardek take a long time to code. If he is to release Mardek 4, it will probably be in >4 years.

I doubt Tobias will ever finish this game, due to his depression and brain tumor. It is hard to contact him as well, so there is no way to get someone else to finish it.

Had Pseudolonewolf not abandoned Mardek, he would have been in the league of the world's most renowned developers and make quite a profit. Sad, but that's the reason why one can't simply abandon his game.
