Under rating threshold (show) I have fallen through 5 platforms within the first 15 minutes. For a platform lover, this thing deserves a 5/5 for being a true platformer. Too bad I'm not a platformer lover :( 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) VicReL28: Yes, it will use your computer memory. That's the point. That isn't to say that it will use more of your computer's disk space; just the memory. That's why it's so important - if your storage space setting is less than "unlimited," the memory the game can use is also limited.

Under rating threshold (show) Usually, changing the storage limit in your Flash settings to "unlimited" gets rid of the lag problem. (It's probably set at 1 meg for you at the moment)

Under rating threshold (show) Save/load is buggy. If you die in game, and click respawn, you start all the way back. If you quit, and load, you start at last checkpoint, and it seems the life you start with is random. Also, the colorkeys keep swapping when you load the game, and changes again when you die. Otherwise its a cool platformer, 4/5

Under rating threshold (show) For those of you who continue to have lag even when setting the storage to Unlimited, I can't really think what else it would be other than your computers... Do you have OLD computers or laptops or something? Only a small few people seem to have that kind of lag, so I can only assume it's something specific to you people...

Under rating threshold (show) Hey Pseudo, nice job on another NES-like game. I have to agree with everyone else about disliking the short-jumps, though admittedly I haven't practiced for long. I wish I had more time to devote to it but I'm swamped with homework. Will probably revisit this game in the future (more ad-rev for you, heheh). Also, a suggestion to help deter some of the really negative comments: Have a shorter disclaimer about the game's difficulty and style show up before they see anything else (even the main menu). For example: "Warning: This game is intended to be very challenging and old-school. If you can't handle it, don't play." Something like that. Keep it up!

Under rating threshold (show) You pretty much have to go at this game with good humour (and patience) People who want a "quick fix" of a game should, maybe not avoid playing the game, but at least not rate low it out of anger/frustration just because it isn't easy.

Under rating threshold (show) Constructive criticism is criticism that also suggests a SOLUTION to the problem. 'I don't like it!' suggests no such solution at all; how do I make it so you WOULD like it? Is it possible? If not, then don't say anything at all. The best comments are the ones that I can USE to improve the game... though is some general non-sarcastic civility and manners too much to expect from people these days?

Under rating threshold (show) Very good game, even better (and more difficult =) ) than part 1. I don't know why everyone has got problems with the controls... I think they're very comfortable. Under rating threshold (show) As far as platformers go, this is one of the better I've played. The jumping mechanism takes a bit of getting used to, but once you learn it the game becomes a lot easier. Also controls are fully customizable, so if they are not working for you, you can always swich them to a more comfortable setting. While some of the jumps can be frustrating, I've yet to face an obstacle that I felt was impossible. Besides, this is a platformer, the challenge is intended to derive from the environment, not the enemies.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game. After you get used to the controls (it took me the tutorial to do this, if you don't do it right by the end of the tutorial the first time, one more run or two will help you). After I did, I loved the game. To be entirely honest, it did lag a bit before I set the storage to unlimited, but now its great. The jumping mechanism takes quite a bit of getting used to, but once you do, I really do like it. You have to play this a bit to appreciate this, don't just bash it after skipping the tutorial and just starting the game, or just being frustrated. I personally love it. And that's saying a lot, since I don't have much of a taste for Pseu's games (notably Mardek series...no offense)! 5/5 fave. Going to give Episode 1 a whirl.

Sep. 01, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) The lag seems to be related to the Kongregate chat, NOT spyware and it's very insulting that anyone would assume something like that. As for why setting storage space to 'unlimited' fixes it, I just don't know, but as I said, the lag only seems to occur with the Kongregate chat anyway (if you run the game on another site or locally, it runs fine). Did you even TRY the solution or just say 'well, it SHOULDN'T need unlimited storage so it has spyware'? Agh... People.

Under rating threshold (show) To all you people complaining this game is hard: IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE CHALLENGING! This is actually EASIER than the games it was modeled after, in old games, if you died you needed to start over from square one. Go back to playing mindless explosion-fests like Frantic 2 if you don't like this. Also, lag does not equal a bad game, it means either A) You were too lazy to do what Pseudolonewolf says to do when you start the game up, or B) Your computer is really, really, really out of date. For all of you that got this far, thank you for reading my rant... >.>

Sep. 01, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) The spike collisions are 'forgiving'; you only get hurt by a small box within the 'centre' of the spikes. This means you don't get hurt if you graze your foot or head on them, only if you hit them solidly. There are no times where you get hit when you 'don't even touch them'.

Under rating threshold (show) NOTE ABOUT LAG – PLEASE READ!! If you are experiencing lag with the game, here’s how to fix it. Right-click and go to Settings; you’ll be presented with a little popup thing. There’s a slider, which may be set at something like 100KB (the middle). Move this all the way to the right until it says ‘Unlimited’, then close the popup. This should remove all lag!

Sep. 01, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) I personally happen to feel that the 'jumping parts' in any game are more enjoyable than whatever else there may be, and I like games like, say, *Tomb Raider* - which is all about acrobatic jumping - more than games about mindless violence. So I tried to include what I personally like in this game. It's just unfortunate that games are moving more away from jumping skills and more towards combat 'skills' or something...

Under rating threshold (show) Great game Pseudo! You have obviously surpassed Raider 1,and I can't think of anything bad to say about this game now that the lag bug is fixed.I'm really annoyed by all the people complaining about crap that's already been fixed or noted,or controls they don't like while it is completely customisable! If only people would consider what you went through to make this...And now you're succumbing to their angry demands.I guess there's nothing to do... PEOPLE!To fix the lag,set your storage to unlimited!AND you can customise your own controls!

Sep. 01, 2009

Under rating threshold (show) Also, the main reason you don't just grab ladders when you come into contact with them is because a) I've never played a game that does that before, and b) you have more CONTROL over grabbing ladders this way. It's possible to drop down a ladder and then only grab it at the bottom rather than climbing all the way down it, but if you auto-grabbed, that would be more difficult or maybe impossible. I am really feeling quite despaired that people can't just try to get used to the controls... Does every other game you play have IDENTICAL CONTROLS? Ugh... I also wish that people would realise that I personally am on the receiving end of these comments, so I really wish that people would offer constructive criticism rather than just the idiotic dismissive comments that many are leaving...

Under rating threshold (show) I'm annoyed how nearly everyone here is blatantly ignoring it. Crying "lag" when the problem can be fixed by just reading what is in the description is silly. My comment wasn't aimed at you, but, the Kongregate community who seem to have trouble reading.

Under rating threshold (show) protip: read the description, it helps. As for the game, I love it, new traps, new enemies. Short jumps aren't that hard, move down to the end of the ladder, then just tap A then press UP. Hope I can finish it shortly.

Under rating threshold (show) How the heck does the keyboard layout not make sense? Aside from the extra button, it's an NES controller. Re-inventing the wheel? Please. Classic platformers have ALWAYS had a seperate jump button. This game is not trying to be unique, it's trying to be like an old school platformer.

Under rating threshold (show) This game is excellent. Unforgivingly hard, even on the first level, but that is unique and interesting. This game is no pushover. The music is excellent and the level design is fiendish. This will probably be a favorite of mine for a while.
