theres a way to make your units last longer in the field:
1: get 3 squads at least (1 range 2 melee)
2: upgrade only attack directed skills for the ranged and all upgrades for the meele. Also get max out numbers for the squads
3: 1 suicide goblin is enough
4: During combat, shuffle your meelee units every time you see the animation of the oponent attacking, that way, if you time it right, you make them miss the swing, and since your ranged units will keep hitting, you wont lose all your DPS, but almost nullifies theirs. I got the in-game acheivment "tactician" in 16 days basicly using this

I think the stategy comes in when you attempt to hit the acheivements as you go. Seeing what is coming next and figuring out which creatue you should save up for next to maximize your distance early on is where you have to make decisions.

just found a bug, if u return to camp mid fight u lose the money u earned in that fight. i just wanted the 500 more gold needed to get my werewolves, but i have to go through til the end to get it

love it, i agree its more like a launch game, so checkpoints would be stupid. despite what everyone else says i love it gg, 5 stars

I made it to day 32 wave 34. I like the game and there is a lot going on for it, but just too much grinding. I really wanted to "Beat" the game, but at the point of wave 34, I just couldn't do it anymore. A checkpoint after every 10 waves would be awesome. Just say that when you start at check point "X", you get so much gold each time and then earn more gold from that point until you reach the next point. That would get rid of a lot of the grinding. If you could do something like that, it would be an easy 5/5! Without it, I have to go with 4/5.

@ cowboyrobot: I think the strategy is in juggling the lines to get the best troop to face the ones they are strongest against. But I do agree that it is bottlenecking your troop variety into a preset rail. (or you could grind it out and try the more powerful units)

Pretty fun addicting game, I would love to see talent trees instead of mindless upgrades though. Otherwise great game keep up the good work!

After you think that your clicking and strategy means that much, just let it run in background without touching anything. Activate nothing, don't reorder after initial setup (put ranged in the back). You will be suprised to see that on auto it reaches almost same place as you will all the super-smart repositioning and skill activation...

great game :) hotkeys would be nice for the battalions, and for their spells too. for example: 1,2,3 should be the battalions hotkey, to bring them to first row, and the space key for their spells. that'd make the executing of the strategy faster, more fluid.
btw i think it really is a good game, with hotkeys it worth 5 stars, without them, it's just a strong four.

Bored-quit at wave 22.
- Checkpoints!
- More speed (nornal and fats seem the same to me)
- Health and armor upgrades for ranged unit are beyond useless

Would be greate if changing formation could be done with arrow keys or WASD. And there's a quick shortcut with some keys to change the unit group

So, the tactic is simple: keep one line of mellee, 3 lines of ranged. First, goblins die, then skeletons, and then the real fight begins. Use the demon's smash skill all the time. Werewolves against all except city guards and paladins (you need all 10 to be alive at the titan). Cursed knights at the rest. At wave 32, use apocalypse, put underworlds with their skill activated in front, and enjoy the show. At titan put demon in front, then werewolves with roar, and cursed knights behind them. That's how i won, but it's really difficult.

Finished it by day 39. I loved the fact you can finish it without all the upgrades - although it was extremely hard. You need to be tactical and pay attention to what units you send where, and when to activate their skills. I will post another comment for the tactics i used 5/5

I enjoy the strategy of being able to move units around to fit the situation. Putting strength vs weakness at all times to go much further and timing out the unit abilities.

I get the feeling the idea was to make a strategic fantasy version of a "launch" game. I think the current concept might get more favorable reviews with some pick ups/treasure/bonuses; some way of getting further to compare with bouncing on a creep etc. Good game as is though.

Checkpoints, nough said there. Also the randomness is a bit unbalanced. You shouldnt upgrade and then not get as far as you just got unupgraded. Makes the upgrades mean less in the long run.

great game and concept only so friking slow holy crap. and beside skills not much to do . feels like a decent anti idle game

I do not get this game, there is 0 point in strategy, just pointless grind, 5 golins do better than 8 goblins and 3 archers.... this is all beyond me, if i just could give negative score :/
