how to win: level up at least once (if you're bad at the game like me then you'll need to level up more so your stats will start of better) and then go two cat and two ninjas (it also works with one cat but two cats is even more fun) your candy is top priority, so get as much of that as possible during the whole game. After the first wave, upgrade the candy upgrade once (or twice if you can) and then repeat until your candy is maxed out. When this happens, start upgrading your special up to max using the same strategy as before. Then do the same as your attack, and then after then you can do whatever you want. make sure to use your special anytime there's enemies on screen that aren't just one or two grey aliens, there's no need to try to use them stragically if you can just spam them at every corner. If you did the thing, and you did it right, and you didn't mess it up, it works! It just works!

Fairy, Knight, Witch, Cat. Unbeatable group. Max out special early on and all 3 of those buffs will last approximately 85% of the time. Get shot? No problem special also heals you. Things drop in no time flat with the double attack speed buff. Made it to wave 19 or 20 or something in Survival and took out like 50 of those mini boss guys on the little hover crafts. Then the game either bugged or that was the last wave and just had me running forward firing with no more enemies and no end. I'd like to know if that actually was the final wave. Great game lots of fun different classes. Final score was 33,026 cheers

Whoever decided 30,000 was a good benchmark is a sadist. I died right near the very beginning of Survival Wave 18, which is virtually impossible because of multiple Level 8-style bosses, leaving me with a score of 29,852...

Decent for a bit of time filling, but it gets a bit dull fairly quickly. I found a combination of ninjas and pirates worked well.

Three ninjas and cat (or witch until you get cat) seems to be the best combination. Get 3 levels of Candy (which is plenty to beat the game and still upgrade everything fully except Magnet, which you really only need 1 level of) then prioritize the upgrades in the order that they're in on the screen. Attack, Speed, Special, Health and then Magnet once you max all those. Game is fantastic. I love it.

Not sure why people seem to think ninjas are always the best. The 2st unlocked character, Cat, is a little weaker and a little faster than ninja, and can use Frenzy about half the time, making it MUCH stronger than ninja. The extra speed allows you to outpace enemies by around twice as much at that point, and Frenzy allows you to deal MUCH more damage when you need it. Witches are also solid, as their special stat allows fast recharge, they have decent attack, and Brew allows them to get ninja-like speed and good damage, with more health (As ninja you get 2-hitted). A combination of Cat and Witches gives good damage, speed, and special and decent health, with the special making it AWESOME damage and excellent speed, which will be on around 3/5 of the time.

robot, cat, two fairys, and you cant die, not easily at least plus everytime you heal you get more fire rate and more candy to spend meaning well you aint gotta worry about dying as often and dont gotta worry about not getting candy, if you fully level up special youll be golden, currently maxed everything out, currently on wave 13

I definitely prefer games with permadeath, but this game was okay, 3/5 Stars. I followed NanakoM's strategy in the top comments, reached the final boss on Wave 13 on my 2nd try, and beat the main game on my 3rd try. Wherever you may be now, thanks for your advice.

Creators should consider adding small bonuses in rounds that we are not hit in. They add up as we progress through each level. Just an idea.

This game is great in it's own simplistic way. i would have rated it 5 stars, but i don't like it very much myself. still great though :) have an apple

I can't seem to see the right and bottom edges of the screen. Is that an issue with for the devs, Kongregate, or me? I'm playing on Chrome.

Would be better if the game was more than 5 minutes. Few tips, Movement is useless passed lvl 2-3. same with attack. Candy is good, but the game is too short for anything passed 4 to effective. I use level 3 candy. Health is the only real option to max.

I eventually got 34,000 with 2 ninjas, a Cat and a Knight. That's the best combo I've found. 2 ninjas and 2 cats also work well, but if you get hit a lot the knight will let you survive long enough.

The gameplay is fun at first, and the idea is just amazing. One thing I didn't like, though, was how you have to restart with nothing if you die. Yay, this feels incredibly rewarding! The exp system kept it interesting at first, but when I sit for 15 minutes just to see the bar fill up half-way, urging me to play another 15 minutes in hope of achieving something worthwile, I simply lost interest.
The cake is a lie.
