Wave 18 is indeed brutal... I began suspecting what would be there after reading all the comments saying how bad it is, and all I will say is: indeed, they're in the level :-) You can still get points on wave 18 though, and get 30k+ by the end of wave 17 -- just max candy ASAP. As for my build, it was 2ninja/pirate/cat. I find the pirate's firing pattern is complementary to the ninjas, and the broadside attack is pretty handy as well. And frenzy is an OP support ability if I ever saw one.

3 ninjas and 1 knight. The knight's protection spell is invaluable and the ninjas spread!
Make sure you rack up 30,000 points by the end of level 17 (Do this by upgrading 'candy' as early as possible, killing and collecting everything). You will NOT pass wave 18. You'll see what I mean when you get there.

I did it the 3rd achievement with quad ninjas. Got to 18 and gotta say I see what everyone was saying about it. It's basically you die now. Level starts out with some of those riders that won't leave the screen and just keep shooting at you.

Great game. I love old style arcade type games, especially ones that don't have checkpoints. I look forward to playing your future games!

Wave 18 D: ..... i really enjoyed this game, well done! I enjoyed playing around with the characters in story mode, which i finished with 2 ninjas a cat and a robot (the early candy is nice to get the ball rolling!) but i would have liked some better balance for survival .... 3 ninjas and a cat is easy mode.

The guaranteed winning combination is 2 ninja and 2 cats: I was able to get >30,000 points on level 17. .............However, it is worthy of consideration that the witches' special is the same as the cats, but the witches shoot faster and bring "+20 SPECIAL" -- making the most important thing - your special attack- refresh MUCH faster.

I eventually got 34,000 with 2 ninjas, a Cat and a Knight. That's the best combo I've found. 2 ninjas and 2 cats also work well, but if you get hit a lot the knight will let you survive long enough.

apparently 4 cats + full spec = almost never spot using spec which is quite funny considering how there special works (ima firin' mah lazor!!!)

Phew, after wave 17 and 29997 I never knew that the last 3 candies would be so hard. Wave 18 is BRUTAL! My build was 3 ninjas and a cat

Candy should stop dropping once you've fully upgraded attack, speed, and special. It's hard to see incoming bullets with all the candy constantly flying at you.

Did anyone else feel a wave of Commander Keen nostalgia while playing that? The graphics, from monster design to candies themselves, looked very Commander Keen. The pleasant memories bring a smile to my face!

I think the 4-wizard build is pretty good too. With all special upgrades, you can spam special FOREVER. I got the hard badge with that, but inevitably died on Wave 18.

A tip - if you're going for the 30,000 points badge - get it BEFORE wave 18. LightEcho's 2xcat, 2xninja strategy is a winner, btw.

Very good game.I got all achievements.I have used 3 ninjas(2 in front line,1 in back line and 1 cow in back line).This game is very addicting and funny.

Double ninja Double Cat is too good it simple beats everything else. Which has a lot to do with the fact that health and special are inferior to attack and speed in even quantities. Having these stats high lets you collect more candy and spec purely into candy. The combination allows massive wave clearing with its special and since the duration of frenzy is so long later in the game it has 90% or so uptime

"Congratulations! You've maxed out your rank and unlocked Robin Hood! ...whose special attack does one the auto-attack from this Ninja guy you had all along." It boggles my mind that you'd make ninjas available from the very start. Still, fun game.

If you could have the back two flip around but half the speed of the part as a whole. Might make the boss much easier, but perhaps pay candy to swap characters midgame, or perhaps different upgrade paths for each child?
Not being hit and killing all the enemies should either give bonus candy or parhaps unlock extra classes? Not terrible, but it wasnt wuite there, it started to get boring after the first few deaths =/. 3/5
