Would be nice if you add some more passive levels past hero and add some classes that are better then the ones you start with, this would increase play time a lot.

Not too bad if you're used to getting those bullet hell badges. I got the hard one with a team of 3 ninjas one cat. Don't be stingy with the specials, use them when more than 1 full line of enemies are present.

I'm reading a lot of comments where people are complaining about having to start over upon death. While I agree that it is slightly obnoxious, the game is super-short, so it's really not that big of a deal. There wouldn't be much challenge if you could just pick right up where you died....

Pirates are a pretty solid second-tier behind Ninja. Slower, but stronger shots, without as much straight forward-clearing shots. A Ninja/Pirate team is also pretty strong. Haven't seen a Zombie costume, or we could make the Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot.

Wave 18 is indeed brutal... I began suspecting what would be there after reading all the comments saying how bad it is, and all I will say is: indeed, they're in the level :-) You can still get points on wave 18 though, and get 30k+ by the end of wave 17 -- just max candy ASAP. As for my build, it was 2ninja/pirate/cat. I find the pirate's firing pattern is complementary to the ninjas, and the broadside attack is pretty handy as well. And frenzy is an OP support ability if I ever saw one.

Some sort of continue option would be nice, coming within 10 seconds of beating the boss and then dying is really annoying.

It`s a very nice game. Graphics simulate 8-bit, catchy music and fun and unexpected enemy placement really make this game shine. But there should be a short-key for the pause button, like P. It`s kind of annoying having to click the pause button everytime you have to/want to pause. Though despite that minor flaw, the game is really good and original. 5/5.
PD: My setup to win the game was Knight-Pirate-Pirate-Cat. It actually defies expectations and works really well.

Mr. President, Aliens from another world have come to earth!" "GOOD GOD! ARE THEY ATTACKING!?" "Yes! I mean, no. Well, kinda. They're sort of just taking all the kids' halloween candy." "Okay, that's a relief." "Should we get the FBI on them? The CIA? The milit-" "Nah, let's just leave it. I'm sure if we just ignore it long enough, the kids will just form vigilante death squads and start killing the aliens for us." "Um, okay...

interesting shmup, but needlessly over-complicated from the get&go. and i think the addition of extra characters, since most provide too little variation (and only one is really worthwhile anyway) were thrown in to make up for the lack of replayability. plus, your party moves like a tank regardless of how much speed you put into it. this ain't Commando, though i am thankful for the lack of difficulty. and honestly, making something "retro" doesn't make it "good": the music is grating house variations that stale and annoy after the first few minutes. need to be able to mute the music w/o muting the sound, so i can crank up something fitting. @guardian angel: no, this formula has been repeated a million times over. it's not unique at all. you just haven't been playing the right games. try on some Touhou or something.

Holy crap! I think I see three bosses on 18! But it looks like two glued together? Oh, so it's six. WRONG! IT'S NINE!!! Wtf, mate!? No wonder it says there's "only" 50 waves of survival. No one's supposed to make it to 20.

I can't believe it, but 2 Ninjas + 1 Cat & 1 Robin Hood (when you unlock him) kinda blows the 3 Ninja/1 cat team away. I had considerably less trouble (and utilized the special attack less frequently) with that Hood on my team. The added power in the front allowed me to mow down enemies with a simple sweeping motion, and I didn't have to pause to get those followers in front of me to fall. Overall, this is game is a lot of fun and kept me playing to earn the hard badge! Absolutely perfect music to keep me going, too.

Pretty fun. The only problem is that the upgrade descriptions aren't clear. For example, does "Increases attack speed" mean that the rate of fire increases, or the velocity of the projectiles increase? And how much does it increase? I don't want to spend 300 candy for a 2% increase, but I would for 20%.

At first this game was very fun. The more I played, the less I enjoyed it. It was slow, repetitive and honestly the classes didn't offer enough different skills or powers to justify getting any other than the 3 ninja, 1 cat team. Also the end game (and survival mode) were not necessarily challenging. Very repetitive.

Damn! I died in survival with 29567 points! By the way that wawe 18 is totally unfair! Sending in 6(!) alien sub bosses (thos purple guys riding a green big guy) right at the beginning while the regular walls of aliens constantly keep coming (and faster than ever before!) and it's hard enough to take those out alone, not to mention that becouse of them you can't even get in line with the bosses to shoot them nor dodge their shots! Even the survival levels should be at least theoretically possible, but this one is totally imopssible. Why do you have 50 waves when you kill the heroes on the 18th?

For anyone wondering like I was, the level cap ends at "Hero" with +90 to all stats. I suggest playing normal mode until you cap out, and then move to survival, it will make things a lot less frustrating. I went with arielaquino's suggestion of ninjas x2, robot x1, cat x1. Put two ninjas diagonal from each other and fill in the empty spots with the cat and robot (it makes for a better spread) Spam spacebar nonstop. Put all into Candy stat with the exception of putting 1 into magnet every couple levels (to accommodate for increased need of dodging). Next max out attack>health>speed>special. Using this strategy I got 30k by the end of level 16.

If you could have the back two flip around but half the speed of the part as a whole. Might make the boss much easier, but perhaps pay candy to swap characters midgame, or perhaps different upgrade paths for each child?
Not being hit and killing all the enemies should either give bonus candy or parhaps unlock extra classes? Not terrible, but it wasnt wuite there, it started to get boring after the first few deaths =/. 3/5

I don't like the fact that the upgrades reset in story mode for each run. For survival I understand this but I feel that story mode should be more casual gameplay then having to grind it out for the minimal upgrades we get from ranking up.

Wave 18, 32759 points, 13609 candy, 2cats, 2ninjas. Rank General. Kept special up as often as I could, Did lots'a vertical movement to 'spread the love' as much as possible. Most waves were either dead or reduced by at least 75% as soon as they arrived onscreen. As long as you prioritize the Gunners the other spawns don't present as much of a challenge. For upgrading I put everything I could into Candy first and filled in the rest with what was left over. My reasoning was that not only would I get the upgrades faster but the candy would contribute to the score. Hope this helps.

Can't figure out what to do to level up faster, is it just play a whole heap of short games? Play a really long one? The levelling system seems inconsistent.

you can also use pirates instead of ninjas if you prefer power in every strike instead of power in tons of strikes. This is because pirate shoots cannon balls that one shot every grey alien except the big square, and two at a time too! I tried it and turns out pirate and cat is just as op as ninja and cat.

If you want to win really easily, get 3 Ninjas and either 1 Fairy or 1 Cat. The game is a cake walk after that. I didn't die once with the 3 Ninjas + 1 Cat team.

"Hey guys, the robot seems to dispense candy, but it doesn't matter lets just kept killing the monsters for candy!" Should just opened up the robot for the candy!!!

The upgrades are too subtle. I think the game would be more fun with tougher enemies but also upgrades that actually do something.

Reaches wave 18 on survival with 29,900 points. Then all hell breaks loose and I die almost instantly with 30,200 points, just enough to get the hard badge. No clue how wave 18 can be beaten... Cool game anyway.
