it seems to me rather like 2 children playing at big cave exploration. the addition of detail as time goes on, the exaggeration of time. The giving of abilities to oneself while taking them from the other, realising they're going too far and imposing limitations on themselve. This is a brilliant game.

....wow didnt expect the owner to be almost exactly like me...except i would use a dragon insted of a squid but still same concept

Awesome! I like the tone, the colors, and most other stuff about it. The music fits it perfectly, and it's actually the only good minimalist game I've ever seen. It's certainly challenging!
5/5

I sort of jumped a little at the end, when you see your friend, but that's only because I'm jittery from staying up all night >.> But I did like the game, it was short and very sweet c=

I've never had a friend that dedicated... It truly is beautiful to me too see how much these people(?) have gone through to be together.. And even after one looks different, they can see past all this and still be friends. 9/5... made me a little teary too.

This is a true work of art. It is very sad in a strange way and also relieving. By the way, who is Jake Elliot? Is that you or someone else?

What a game! I myself along with the friend got lost in circles and even swimming to the begining once on accident! I do think now after long thought and finally beating the game(YES!!!) that the creator of this game replaced a human friend with an octopus friend just to stimulate thought, personal symbolic meanings and, to make one stop and think a little longer to find maybe a psychological meaning. I to did try to find an immediate idea. Mine was that the boy had the octopus was the boys old pet and they used to always swim togethor in the pond. Then one day the octopus found those caves and went there, he wrote letters to his friend/owner and continuted to journey. Once he found the end he sat and waited patiently all those years. I had thought it was just a game with an echo of Haciko (sorry if I missed the mark on spelling that). Then again that`s just my opinion...

I think the octupus was his friend.... But he waited so long I guess he turned into an octupus.
And now that I know where to go, its fast to get there.
So, it goes to show you, NEVER wait in a pond. :)

What the hell is this? It is so weird, how did he carry many years supply of paper, and keep it from being wet the whole time? even if he had a pencil, it would mess up the paper... It doesn't make sense. And what up with the weird man octopus thing?

It was a awsome games I loved teh twists adn turns in the game, both figurativly and literally. It reminded me of Atari graphics yet the storyline was top notch. This game is a def 5/5 and is this game in memory of someone? I fuly agree with pingpongpaddle, I think you can think of this game as a life lesson of sorts. That your best friends will last forver and always be there.

I think about it in this sad way:the octopus had a friend when he was a child and he was a normal boy. Then, him and his friend were going to go down that pond where they used to fish. He went in and his friend promised to"catch him up". But his friend betrayed him or could not come down there for some reason. then, another person goes into the pond and they find out that someone had been down there a year before and he finds out that this person has evolved/adapted to becoming able to breathe underwater.they have become an octopus and their friend has left them.

Jake Elliott what is he a man or an octopus that's deformed? but i was extremely impressed with the ending and i never think that of games usually. It may not have the graphics but it has the story line of Avatars' quality. I only wish it was extended to a longer trilogy.

WOO HOO GREAT GAME SERIOUSLY... man I feel for him wondering what happened to his friend living down there for such a great period of time which seemed to flow through us as we sped along trying to find our friend. He lived so long down there its amazing no one would think someone could live in a cavern so long. He must have thought about him and his friend could be together once again and lived and grow but now the story must end not knowing what happened to his friend 5/5 p.s. If I could rate it higher I would rate it infinity.

Lovely game. Full of life and very sad but in the way you want to be happy and cry at the same time. Really makes you feel like your the person in the pound looking for your long lost friend. Every time I found I note I got happy hoping a would reunite these good friends. You feel like you just did a good act after playing this. Long live this game =) 5/5
