So, critiquing the genre of the music is about taste, which isn't the same as good design. This style of music is important for gameplay reasons, with lots of easily identified beats. That IS good programming. If you can't tolerate different kinds of music, don't play rhythm games.

anyone else find the difficulty set up massively between level 4 and 5?
I didn't lose a single ship in the first 4 levels and in the fifth level i lose 4 ships.

Fantastic game. I will admit, level 5 should have been moved. Partially because it's a spike, and partially because... that spike is right jammed in a spot where you don't get a choice to go around it and come back to it. Every other level, aside from 15, and 18, you can go around, collect other upgrades, and then come back to.
A really beautiful game though. 5/5, despite it's spikes though.

By no means "unique" is equal to "good". This game may have some degree of originality, but good it is not. And yes, the music is bloody awful. Talk about misleading tags...

First of all, the music sucks... Never been a fan of techno. I applaud the game's originality but the game itself is terrible.

I've seen a lot of people commenting stuff like "blah blah level is terrible" and simply comments that say "this is a bad game", but I think this game is unique, and really shows great programing skills. Don't listen the h8tors and please keep developing this game.

Like this comment if you think this game is not only BAD ASS but also epic and awesome with the music and rhythm matching and also if you danced your ship around to the beat as much as WASD would allow you to! Two thumbs way way up to the Developer of this amazing game. Please make a sequel if you haven't already!

Yeah, Lvl 5 suffers a sudden difficulty spike, but just some hints:
-There is enough bullets that you can almost perpetually slow time, use it to understand the pattern an formulate your strats
-It's a rhythm game, so listen to the music and "dance" with it! Every song has ups and downs in the beat, shoot while it's low, slow time when it's high
-you have levels, which will give you extra lifes and more damage, grind a little
-You can slow time and shoot at the same time, if you can't see gaps to shoot, do it while you're precise dodging!

I'm not a fan of the carnival music the game used during the levels nor was the "rhythm" aspect even noticeable. The music that played at the main menu would have been better than that sound travesty that should be left at the carnival instead of being used as the level music. The effect the time slow had on the music made it even worse like playing carnival music on a record player at half speed.

So the game loaded in half a second. Typically, you play a side game if you have to wait for the game to load, not the tutorial. I'm sure there will be plenty of people wanting to vote this down, but it's less confusing to have the tutorial "in" the game instead of a side attraction.

Too many lasers that CONSTANTLY push you towards the edge of the screen. Keyboard-only controls and tight maneuvers do NOT go well together. The "lives" system is poorly thought out - in later levels, I'm pretty much stuck with a single life. About the only thing this game has going for it is the music, which can't save it from the flaws.

I like the fresh idea, but difficult rates are really inaccurate. And it would be really, REALLY nice to be able to play with the mouse.

It's already bad enough that I have to graze to earn energy for slow and bullets, why would you make the grazing field a blinking one instead of a constant field?

Vela 5 rated 1.5 stars??? Try more like fighting Dracula in I Wanna Be The Guy! How is anyone supposed to even remotely dodge the bullets when they form a solid line across the entire screen???

Please, please add some option to stop the entire screen from flashing bright colours. It might just be me, but it kind of hurts to stare at something that is flashing.

Whenever you are like "Why is the difficulty spike sooooooooo huge" then you realize you are playing the level 3 levels ahead of the chronological level and you wont quit because you are mad by then.

Nice game, but here's a bit of an advice from me : in a good bullet hell game, there shouldn't be ANYTHING that fires STRAIGHT on you. Got it?
