I just gave 5/5 not because that game deserves it but because to get it a little higher then 3.30 because it should be about 4.20
This game gets so overrated by RuneScape haters all around the world
I think its a beautiful game devoloped by dedicated devolopers (+ to keep this up and I suggest most people to change their rating to 5/5 to keep it balanced againts the RuneScape haters)

runescape...started my online gaming AGES ago, when they still had the wild. *I* do wish it had some more repeatable quest things...but hey whatever it's still a good game, i go through moments when i hate it....and moments when it's all i can play. it's a good game, jagex just gets annoying somtimes

Great game. I've been playing it since classic on and off, and with each year brings better graphics and more things to do.
If anyone thinks this game lacks depth; try getting a team together and go Dungeoneering. It is a great experience.

@3012mathias 2 REASONS? That is why you hate a game, just because you control practically everything with a mouse, it is like other games, exept they use keys to move, and do stuff, Jagex simplifys it, and the reason why it requires lot of grinding is because you need to work to get good stuff, this isn't a game where you do one thing, than you get the best items, you need to work. Jagex adds minigames, techniques, and other stuff to both make the game a bit more challenging and more fun. They pdate it constantly also. THATS WHY WE ENJOY IT!

look i never care about the graphcis i care about gameplay cause gameplay is what realy matters so if u rated this game low about graphcis that means u rreeallyy dont care about the gameplay..

It is like marmite, you hate it or love it. for me it is one of those games where you play for a while and get bored, than come back to it and get hooked again.

It's the best free MMORPG because it's the biggest MMO that has an option to be completely free. I've been playing for around 9 years, on and off, and I'm still addicted to it ;D

One of the things unique about Runescape is the quests, its not just those stupid quests like kill 3 skeletons or 10 giant moles, they actually have a story in them!

besides. i don't know what's so bad about EoC. yeah, it makes combat a bit easier, but it also actually gives you something to do while you're fighting. i mean, c'mon. who wants to sit there and watch your toon attack for 5 minutes while you're killing KBD?

I THINK RUNESCAPE IS EPIC. The joy of completing a tricky quest or the feeling what you get when you slay a difficult monster. Its not the greatest looking game or the most bloody, there are hackers but they're in all MMOs. But I think this is the best game because you can do SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for both members and free players and just for that i give it 5/5. + if you agree.

If you don't like this game, think again. Try to comlete the toutorial and level up one skill to lvl 10 exept hitpoints and give it some judgement after that.

It doesn't have kong api because it is made with java not flash.
It can never have badges.

Runescape has all the elements a good mmo should have. It has a good combat system, skills, large quest number, immense worlds, numerous monsters, and a lot for non-paying members to do. Most of the people who don't like the game probably haven't played long enough to experience the vast expanse of options available.

I think that people rate Runescape low mostly because they compare it to games like WoW. Try comparing it to other "free" mmorpgs and you will see that Runescape's graphics are much better and the world is much deeper with many more stories being told.
True you do need to pay to access most of the games features but this is true for all such games. Servers cost money both to buy and maintain not to menton the cost of all the people who spent time creating new features.
I for one would rather play a game where you need to pay to access extra features then play one where you cant get to the top without buying your way there.
And guys lets keep our comments relevant to the game. This is not a chat-room.

@Dukedase: You don't HAVE to play in HD. There IS a graphics options page you can go into and you CAN turn the graphics to low if you wanted. Don't make an excuse like that to quit. If you got bored of the game or just don't like it anymore, thats fine, but don't use an idiot excuse.

This game , of course, is not the BEST game in the world. neither is WoW , Mario, or Barbie Princess Mansion. This game is stereotyped throughtout the globe, yet millions of people who say they hate hte game, have never tried it. it deserves a chance. so shut up and try it.
