With the upgrade of Runescape to Runescape 3, the game's graphics have really improved so those people who left the game due to the graphics being really bad, should try it again :D

Whilst there are many other great f2p MMORPGs, Runescape has been my favourite for at least 5 years. There are no dead ends in runescape, always a new place to go, a new weapon to craft. I cannot see why people give Runescape such a bad name. Obviously, it is not graphically amazing, but if you play video games for the graphics, you aren't playing video games properly.

To anyone who does not favor the newer combat system over the old one: You can revisit a carbon copy of Runescape as it was in August of 2007. You will start as a level 3 off Tutorial Island, but you will have all the benefits that "Old RS" had. You need to be a member to do this, however.

If you are having problems getting to the game, scroll to the bottom of the Runescape page, click "Continue to full website," then click the 'Play Free Now" button in the top right corner. If you have a Runescape account, you should be able to log in. Any issues getting the game to run are likely because you need to update Java.

@crazynat, you call me a recent player? this is my sixth year on runescape. Perhaps you are a slightly more new player? Just out of question, you say the game went downhill after you started playing, when did you start playing? why not tell us about the updates that you think ruined the game? not in the comments of course i even started a thread about go check it out.

@crazynat67 You want them to bring back tutorial island? the isand that was scraped well over three years ago?. the tutorial island was alot longer and was really annoying as you would have to compete for tree during the woodcutting section, monsters during the combat section and rocks during the mining section. This made the island inefficient. Atleast with the current tutorial you have the option to turn it off in the options section in the tasks tab in the noticeboard.

Great game, I've played this for years, the main problem I have is F2P vs Membership, many online games do this. I understand Jagex wants money, but members act better than all, while they make P2P better, they make f2p worse. Example: Removing world 1 or 3 and making it a members world. *I forgot what world it was, 1 or 3. My bad.*

I don't really like the EoC update, but the quests are great, especially if you are a member, and the bosses and spells are awesome. Plus, there's a bunch of "D&Ds" which you can do if you get bored and the bosses and enemies are cool. This is an epic game.
