Good old Fire Emblem feel, with guns.
Kidding aside, this is amazing. If this is really flash, this is far above average, with really nice REAL 3D graphics, and a fun play style. After level 2, the scaling starts to fall hard. Levels caping at 8, and a few other things, clip the max play length I think. I would love a sequel or interface-continuation from this, especially one with additional story.
In this one, I just feel like we're the sewer clean up crew, what with all the manholes, mutants, platforms on dirty water, and barrels of ill-disposed-of radioactive waste.

Completing the game made me realize one thing. I want more. It's a great turn based tactical shooter with good graphics. There are, however, some suggestions i would like to make. (1): Implement a level editor and support so that people can share these with each other. There are other games that allow this and it keeps the games enjoyable for a lot longer, even after completing the story line. (2): A class system. Maybe while leveling up, you can give them different roles, but at level 8 they all have the assault rifle, maybe 1 sniper, but other then that, there is no difference between them, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, just stating that classes might give the game more dept. (3): When there are no more enemies in the area (or only behind locked doors), maybe it's an idea to drop the AP for walking around. This will speed up the moments when you need to flip a switch or restock on ammo from the boxes. Well thats it. Hope there will be many more like this. Keep up the good work!

Two tips: 1. The gun with the bayonet is extremely useful. Place a soldier at a choke point or spawning site, put them on guard, and they'll make quick work of most weaker enemies with no ammo wasted. This is also a good way to get XP. 2. Speaking of which, XP is retained even when you restart a stage. If you want to, you can grind yourself to max level in a single stage by killing everything and reseting. Combine with bayonets and the stage with infinite enemies (first one with Magnus) for great effect.

Great game, I am impressed.
Some ideas for the sequel
* More visual difference between ammo and credits boxes.
* Story
* Set it on a space ship instead of some weird green lake room???
* Secondary objectives on missions, which will give you bonus
* I want to see the ammo in the unit statues in the top corner

Best graphics of any flash game Ive ever seen. An all around solid game. If this game was on a console id be pleased to play it as i have fire emblem, disgaea, and final fantasy tactics. That being said, its too easy. The addition of defense mode is great, however i found it possible to lock down an entrance grate with a single unit with an assault rifle. Then I just sat around waiting for the heavy marine to show up. 4 guys, 4 or 5 grates, and you can easily lock down the entire map, without a shot being fired. The addition of a hard mode, or even just increasing enemy HP would make this more challenging, and more enjoyable.
Im with the other posters, being able to purchase more weapons and armor would be great! In general more content for a game this awesome would be appreciated by all of us, keep up the good work.

I have never complemented a flash game in my life. But this truly deserves to be the first. This game reminds me of Xcom the console game a lil bit. It has a very nice feel and fair look to it. You should definitely make a sequel or advance to real console game design whoever made this.

For all those who want a sequel: this is merely (however GREAT) copy of a game called Incubation: Time Is Running Out (also known as Incubation: Battle Isle Phase Four). The original contained a lot more levels.

I dont like how I cant have a unit inventory. Having to rebuy a weapon because you dont like the new one you bought just doesnt make sense.

(1) i'll have to disagree with ddd09ish1, i actually managed to seal all monster spawners in the last level except 1, and only because i needed 1 more turn (just 1 more!!). (2) Seriously AMAZING i loved playing it, although i'll have to agree that it's way too short and the enemies get really easy to kill with just a tiny bit of strategy. i'd say there should be different kinds of spawners for different monsters. (3) a speedup button is absolutely necessary. (4) certain monsters should be able to crack doors open (the last level was extremely easy because of the door usage) (5) once you buy a gun, make it so that it is selectable again for free. This game was a great deal of fun to play, seriously, i loved it, i cant express how much, im eagerly waiting for an addon or a sequel. :))

In the 8th level, where you have to blow up the aliens' entrance points you can farm some exp. Place at each entrance a soldier with the assault rifle (the 3rd one with the bayonet), in defense mode. The aliens will get killed instantly without using ammo. I had 3 soldier with the assault rifle, 1 sniper and the armored marine (these other can be used to clear the level of the other monsters and, in my case blow up the 1st entrance). You can level up a couple of times before you run out of aliens (around the 25th turn).

Why, after all this time, have we still not seen a comparable sequel? It's been 4 years this month, and no word on a part 2? Or hell, just the same game with more levels or something!? Come on!!!

Great game but really needs a way to sell your weapons i got to the last level and had 350 credits so i couldn't buy a grenade launcher

great game, i loved the original Incubation. you really caught the atmosphere!
now that i've finished the game, some suggestions:
like the original, make it harder. fewer resources, make the enemies more difficult (i hardly ever died, the enemies have far to little accuracy). Don't let us max every skill, so you have to specialize your units in some way.
bajonett is somewhat overpowered, camping at the exit points of the monsters is too effective.
maybe include a hard-mode with less credits after you've finished the game? :)
@evernewb: you get enough information about your own units. experience bar is right there, ammo used is always one. (correct me if i'm wrong)

Excellent game! I would like to see some challenge levels or a survival mode or something. A random mission generator if possible would also be awesome. If you had those things I could play this game for months!

Fun, but way too easy.
Defending being able to do more shots than just spending your AP on those last 2 AP makes defensive position really good. Could use difficulty modes and skipping enemy movement animation.

The easiest level was the last one, if I had 5 or maybe 10 more turns I could have probably destroyed all the enemies exits. The secret was just to hide a soldier with an assault rifle behind a corner and defend yourself, you become invicible, it doesn't matter how many enemies will reach you in a single turn, you will one-shot them all without even wasting ammo.
