Now when I play it second time I really wish they were more aggressive and not as sneaky as persians. Say you had Persians attacking it should show on the map colours as they're gaining ground etc. Atleast 3 nations fighting it would be most amazing ever! And yeah. There is bug after couple of rounds displaying instantly

badges like conquer whole world hard, beat persia easy & max your army medium badge if so..
To beat Persia is perhaps the easiest thing to do from the 3 :) But defo need badges so I can crush the game once again! :)
Badge like: reaching 10,000 gold would be the easiest ever!

12.5 years, units trained: 1.266 killed: 2.857 Gold Earned 1,560,111. Wish it had badges and wish Babylonians or Egyptians had fought as well as Persians did. It took all excitement away once I wiped out Persians.. :S

remember: just because a unit is considered a counter to another doesn't mean it will always win. if a super upgraded enemy cavalry unit goes against a militia it could take a lot of militia to fight

im interested in the fact that if the persians take one your countries you cant defend it at all you have to retake it rather than defending it like the persians do
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is so bull shit, I lose all my units that are supposed to counter then enemy and the counterable enemy still beats 3 of them!

Use Cavalry. Put all research into only those things which affect cavalry, and leadership. Cavalry units will usually kill at least one enemy before they cross, so keep sending them on currently empty rows. Sometimes they will just run through, sometimes they will meet (and kill) and enemy before the other end. All health restored for a new run. Win at Son of Zeus level, and take a new province every turn, with hardly any casualties overall.

Greatest tip When an enemy takes over your country the next turn they will attack another country leaving 5 incredibly weak units so to make money let a general invade and take back countryies when they move on to new ones u aonly lose 1 country meanwhile u are making lots of gold and not losing troops

"Use militia against Cavalry" *watches enemy cavalry mow down her militia troops like wheat*
"Use Cavalry against Archers" *watches enemy archers mow down her cavalry like wheat*
"Use Archers against Infantry" *watches enemy infantry mowher archers down like wheat*
*shakes her head, give the game a 1/5, and moves on*

game is easy, as long as you know the basic strategy and follow through it: just attack the troops with their weaknesses or use summon strongest troops right before weak enemy units like archers get past your border

What I really hate about this game is when you try to invade a place and you loose, most of the time, you loose another land! Why can't it be when they invade, you engage in a battle to defend?!

I had an error it told me to report. i had 2 territories left to conquer, invade arabia, and an error came up, with a bunch of binary code (which I don't understand), and I could continue the battle but there was no music.

redeyeflashtwice: ok, it works, but you ruin the fun, and the historical point of the game -_-. it's not epic anymore the way you play it.

Ok, here's what you do. After the tutorial battle, go and conquer Illyria. Than just keep ending your turn until the persian advance comes and takes Thrace. Now end your turn until the persians take another province. Than, retake Thrace. The Persians will have left very very few troops, probably about 6 at the most. Retake this province and end turn more until the persians take ANOTHER province. Retake the previous province, and than end turn again until they take another. Continue this cycle until you have max research on everything you need, and than attack the Persian army. Now, start conquering the world, it should be easy from this point on.

For those of you that read the history lesson here is a cheat for you. After a turn spend all your money on the most expensive unit spend nothing on research. then refresh the game when it reloads your money will be reset and you will keep the troops as well. does not work for research items.. but you can buy 99 of Companion Cavalry then sell them and use the money for cheaper troops and research items, have to keep refreshing though. You can also right click the game and hit 'back' then right click again then hit 'forward' so you can keep buying troops quickly. IMPORTANT!!! If you use the right click shortcut before you play for real CLOSE your browser window and open the game in a new window. if you dont when you play you will be attacked by all the opponents troops at the same time! Once you understand this trick there are many tricks that are born from it but you will have to do some of the work yourself! :) Have fun!

Great game and lots of fun! 5/5. I am slightly disappointed of the historical inaccuracy of the map especially the lack of Israel. Let me say I am not jewish nor do I wish to start a political debate. But in the time of the greeks Israel was an extremely strong city state and one of the few places that alexander professed to love in his conquests and therefore left un-plundered. Though many years after alexanders death the holiday Hanukah (hope i spelled that right) came when Israel expelled the greeks from Jerusalem after they sacked their holy temple. The sources are weak, but if the legends are true the Israelis pulled of a crazy lopsided victory beating 3 legions of greek infantry with a handful of troops. Having so much history between them I would have liked to see what you would have done. But I digress... Great game enjoy it immensely.

I recommend using my strategy called Cav-Pel-Pike. Meaning put Cavalry in front (in one line) peltast/archer in middle and pikemen in the last. Cavalry should take out any ranged enemies. Peltast/Archer should take care of infantry. And pikemen are the last defense of that line.

Also, the 99 unit cap was annoying. I never got to use that many because of lack of command points, but there shouldn't be a limit.

my tips:
a heavy blade (hypaspist), backed up with a ptelast will own all infantry
never use archers, only peltasts and heavy blades
in the beginning train 2 peltasts at a time
skip the lancer and go right to champion
horse archers and heavy blades are weak against cavalry
replace militia with pikeman ASAP
go for money before military upgrades
play a defensive game when fighting

Exceptionally difficult, and that was normal mode. Its a great game, but i feel some balancing would definitely improve the game. When you attack a side country and over-run it with ease, and then the persians just tromp you there is clearly no scale there... Good game though. 4/5

I've finish this game many times! I have a tip for you, before the Persian generals are at your neighborhood, you must try to get to Persia, Medea, and Babylon to avoid the Persians attack you! If you say that impossible just know the weaknesses of every enemy! There's no need of 200 men! Just upgrade your technology! One more thing, to defeat heavy infantry like Kardake Infantry use Hypaspist always upgrade his sword! If you're gonna kill Bactrian Cataphract use 2 or 3 upgraded Pikemen to kill one of them! If Persian Archers are ruining your day, kill them with cavalry! That's all!
