To those who made it on impossible: Could one of you show a walkthrough on impossible on youtube? They always suck on impossible, and the successful attempts don't go beyond challenging. I made it once on impossible, but I am not experienced enough to finish the game in adequate time. It is so aggravating to see how they try and die on youtube.

I don't like the item system. With skills capping out at 10, there's not much of a point to boosting the skills. Sometimes, a pistol can make the difference between 1% danger and 0% danger, but usually I'm only sending level 10 survivors on the missions anyway. Even the most seemingly useful items like the dog and the chainsaw just don't make a difference when you go out of your way to use the clunky interface to equip them.

J617: You're welcome! I've also completed many times on Impossible, and no, the book isn't NEEDED. But that 10% happiness boost doesn't hurt, so I take it. I let the Church of the Chosen get started to find out what happens, because it's very helpful for a bit while you're learning how to do Impossible, and to say I've gotten all of the endings. To each their own in the game!

Sionyx: Thank you very much for the information; I have saved it for future reference. I have also saved some other details which I found regarding this. (Replacing churches once reclaimed is one part.) I have played and won the game on impossible many times, and do not have the need for myself to allow the book, but it would be best to know this info when answering other people's questions. Since I am more of a common sense player, I have never played with allowing such things (why would anyone ever want to become a zombie???). However, I have wondered about what all one can do when skirting this issue. And I guess for me, I wonder if those getting the highest scores somehow incorporate this to completing the other endings. Thanks again for the additional knowledge. :)

TeppingGamerGirl: regarding the look of your character, although you can't easily select features that you want, you can change the picture (however, first you want to make sure that your choice of man or woman is what you prefer). Simply click on the picture to change the look of your person. Realize though that you may need to click on the picture many, many times to find a reasonable one (and I do mean that sometimes it takes hundreds of clicks if you are at all picky).

Maybe add the feature to edit the looks of your characters. It would be nice to have certain accesories or looks instead of random

J617: You can safely allow the book to be spread. On higher difficulties, it's a much needed happiness boost early on. Say no to the church to avoid the Church of the Chosen from taking hold. If you allow the church, there ARE chances to avoid your fort committing mass suicide (don't give food for the Day of the Dead, don't add the big graveyard to the fort) but there's still the chance that folks will start jumping off the walls even if you take those precautions. There's an event where some of your survivors will come to the leader and ask to ban the Church because holy CRAP they're worshiping zombies. Say yes and you lose the leader of the Church and two other random survivors and the fort is saved, say no and some of your survivors leave in disgust and you're on your way to getting the Church of the Chosen Ones ending to the game.

LaggyHoodie: If you don’t want the Church of the Chosen Ones ending (embracing zombieism), do not allow them to write the book about the zombies in the first place (I never allow that). I have heard some say that you can let them write the book as long as you don’t let them set up their church. I have no experience with this, so I don’t know, but it is a possibility. I would rather not chance it. Now you know how to avoid this situation in the future. So sorry if you’re already doomed….

"One of Gustav's 'Ladies' couldn't have been more than fourteen years old..." (+10 Happiness)
Why don't you take a seat right over there?

How is this game so addictive?! I just keep picking the same 5 people to start new towns (dream team) and, before I know it, it's 1:40 am.

"must have been a wedding party got eaten by a Zed right in the house of god. Bride, groom, the proud parents, even a flower girl, all torn to pieces. I'll never forget that image" +5 happiness

get the heli parts instead of the "cure" for the zombie plague, which is a fake, Recruit the survivor 'Bob Bila' from a farm/big farm nearby the heliport, And research electricity at the laboratory. There will be endless zombie hordes, not attacks, hordes, and you will need to protect your city. Well, i guess this is the end. Good luck, and have fun.

You need to find a helicopter (somewhere in your map) and reclaim it. Someone will blow it up, but its fine and meant to happen. It would say if you want to interrogate someone, and if you do he will die from the interrogators. But if you dont do that, there will likely be no consequences. Still with me? Good. After this you can speed up the progress by: get a survivor to read "Helicopter Repair for Morons". Instead of "A Cultural History of Zombies" in a scripted random event, which would produce a new self-acclaimed preacher. Which is bad. Very, Very bad.

(btw, this ends up as a guide to the heli ending, just a warning) For all you guys im going to tell you how impossible mode is like. Before I start this, i would like to say i like choosing the dog, because it could gives you 0.5 soldier points and 0.5 scavenger points (you really need food). First, you need to know about the endless zombie hordes coming to attack you, no matter what the percent chance they are coming. Second, you will have 25% happiness to take care of (less food brings down your happiness) and 25 food, going down 3 each day. By the way, the helicopter ending will help you in the impossible city because you get to send 5 people from any gamemode to any gamemode. That way you can send your highly leveled people to survive impossible. How do you get the helicopter ending you may say? Well, my hands are getting tired but ok. Wait, no, it says my content is too long, see you in the next comment!

MaJoe80, this is how to start a game, including how to choose the difficulty level. On the main page click Start Game. On the next page, select New Game. The following page allows one to make choices where it is highlighted. Enter whatever name you would like and then whether you would like the name to be registered as a man or a woman. Also if you want a different picture, click on the picture until you are [somewhat] satisfied. Then make your equipment selection of either a pistol (soldier), binoculars (scavenger), dog (scavenger/soldier), wrench (builder), or cowboy hat (leader). (Personally, I recommend not choosing either of the scavenger options). Click Continue. On the next page, enter whatever city name you would like, your choice of city size (small, typical, big, or huge), then finally choose your difficulty level (pretty easy, kind of tough, challenging, seriously hard, or impossible). Click Continue, and your new game will appear. Good luck!

It won't let you have more than 999 food. i know because i am at that number, get plus 30 each turn, and the number doesn't increase beyond that
