A truly fun and crazy game. This game starts slow and easy but later turns into madness. Everything you do matters and you feel that. Didn't put very many people on protecting the walls and sent them scavenging instead, well then you get overrun and things start to turn form good to bad very fast. But over all a good game and very well made. I wished it looked and played better but i'll see how the second game did. This game is worth your time. I give this game a 8/10. I'll be moving on to the second game to see what they changed

The near death exspirence pisses me off like i would rather you die for being so stupid as of almost dying at a 1% death or fail chance but overall the game is fine.

It's a good game, but the sequel is so awesome I can't even appreciate the first now. Why would you do this to me devs.

So I finally roll a good Harder difficulty map and it's Day 1. I send Builder Wright to scout on a 2% danger mission. Next day he's dead COME ON MAN.

Get 2 labs to start. Seriously. If you can research killing zombies/fort defense, at the same time food (so you don;t need too many farms and can protect your troops, than radio so you can get more people), you can build up a good sized, well protected army of soldiers and builders, and have a good defense. Otherwise.... die.

Ok, so after a few days, spending every evening on trying to beat "harder", I name my town "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU" and leader "Captain Obvious", 'cause it's friggin impossible to win. Guess what happened next.

**@How do you stop people from rioting? PLEASE go to my profile and respond to this post!! I am on "nightmare," with 40 survivors and a surplus of food and defenses, basically set up to win and get the "hard" badge, but I can't stop them! PLEASE HELP! @**

Just an idea for another in-game random bonus: a day or two after you get a, "We haven't seen Survivor X since he went out on that scouting mission last night, I don't think he's coming back." alert, you get a notification that he finally returned, perhaps with a reason as to why he was delayed, and maybe he even returns with extra food or a pet or another survivor!

I notice that the harder mode give you very low starting food and very low starting food storage... 50 food and 50 maximum food. hard give you 75 food and 100 storage and nightmare give you 25 food and 50 storage... so i think harder should be fixed to 75 maximum storage.... it is so difficult in harder take a lab to increase the storage so it is right to increse starting storage.

The Hard badge should be an Impossible badge. I've earned a lot of badges. I have 63 Kongpanions. Badges and Kongpanions don't count for much, in most areas of life, but I think they give a little weight to my opinion about badges on Kongregate. And that badge should be an Impossible badge.

@TheDarkoko: Yeah all you can do on harder levels is just take more risks and hope to get lucky almost every time. And I agree that this game is less forgiving than Rebuild 2...sequel is definitely an improvement over this still good game :)

How is it possible to win in Harder? At first I was being cautious but with that playstyle the zombie's growth completely outscales any progress you can possibly do. So I decided to simply do very risky things in the first days and if it didn't work out simply restart the game. I did get some really good starts this way but, still, sooner or later they get you!!! I had 2 police stations and 2 malls with a good quantity of soldiers and 2 consecutive hordes ruined my game. Very stressful. I beat Rebuild 2 in the hardest difficiulty but this one is too much.

"Hey, we've got food and booze and guns, d'you want to come and live with us?" "Are you a politician?" "No. He died." "Sorry, not interested! I'll stay here on my lonesome and get eaten until you can find a mayor to convince me."

This may be counterproductive, but I would like the ability to slaughter the whiners who complain about their low morale. You're alive, what more do you want?

WARNING: Zombies WILL increase their spawn rates on squares on which you are doing nothing over time. The rate changes depending on difficulty. If you want to keep zombies from spawning, send a mission there - ANY MISSION - as often as you can. [Yeah, I know that's impossible to do everywhere. But it might at least help in the endgame.]
To any fellow eggheads out there, here's my data sheet for ONE enclosed square, not on the border of the map:
The experiment lasted from Days 136-163, on normal difficulty. X[Y] = X Zoms on Day Y; X* indicates that one or two Zoms were killed in random events on those days only, so that X value of Zoms is not quite accurate.
0[136] 54 108 162 214*[140] 214 61 61 0 55 110 165 220 219* 66[150] 66 18** 18 0[154] 57 114 171 228 284* 341[160] 397* 455 513[163]
Notice that the number stays stable over time when it is dropping; this is during a 'Kill Zombies' mission.
Overrun indicates 50+ Zs.
Infested indicates 20+ Zs.

Cured zombiesm on day 139... what's so great about winning the game ONCE in 154 days when you can win it trice in 139...or less
