And then so much pressure was built up in that volcano that it came out of the ground elsewhere and destroyed the village anyway

Little did he realize that by blocking the lava from escaping to the surface he turned a minor volcanic release of pressure in 400 years time into a super mass extinction event in 800

After completing the game, we don't get to see the calamity we prevent so I started again and connected lots of LEGO blocks together and sat them on my laptop's space bar hoping to wait 400 years as I keep coming in and out of my room. 400 years later, we still don't get to see it! Learn from my mistake; don't wait 400 years!

Good tiny game. You could make it better by adding more alive things - fish, birds, etc. and watch them change with time. And change the fast-forward sound to something more soothing, maybe a gentle wind blowing.

I love finding little nuggets of originality like this. Thanks to Scriptwelder for the brilliant concept, and to Kongregate for the brilliant medium.

1. I spent 126 years to travel like 10 km. That's really bad mileage;
2. The good ending probably would cause an even bigger calamity. Just syin;
=)))

I can't say what is more amazing. The fact that a person thought "Hey lets make a game with a hero whose main ability is waiting" or that the game turned out to be good fun.

I discovered the alternate ending when you go to the lava and i didn't press "e" but instead i press spacebar to wait until the years left is zero... It said " Too Late... The World Has Burned To Ashes." Retry?

good game although one thing I don't understand is I give people food, and stand there for 50 or so years and yet people are scared of me...

Here lies a traveler between worlds,whose name is unknown.May his curious soulfind a way home,like you have found his resting place.(go to the other side of a volcano and plant a chestnut.Wait then clim the tree and you will find a grave with the above text).

cool, i love it when checking to see whether there's an easter egg results in there being an easter egg :) may the traveller find his way home indeed

For your long treks, open a new tab, hold down right/left/space (In accordance to what is needed for the arduous task), switch to that tab, now switch back and watch as stuff happens without your fingers getting numb ;)

So in the year 1613 there was this stone behemoth who saved man kind? Why is their no documentation on such a creature?!

Only thing that is lacking is gameover screen. I guess 400 years are given to make sure nobody has to see it, but it's still part of game. And while good ending shows somehow how we stop calamity, in case of game over static final screen is first time fire is ever mentioned(so we didn't teach humans not to play with matches?) Still great game, but in future try to keep even little details like that on same level as rest of the game.

I can't say what amazes me more. The fact that someone thought: "I'll make a game and the hero's special ability is waiting." Or that the game turned out super fun.

Here lies a traveler between worlds,
whose name is unknown.
May his curious soul find a way home,
like you have found his resting place.
I love it when designers do this kind of stuff.
anyone else find it?

I went the whole way to the end with 275 years left. I stood at the mouth of the volcano, faced the direction of those I had passed along the way, and I waited. I let it happen.

After you plant the final tree before the end, wait for it to grow, then head back to the village and grab a second acorn (in autumn.) Walk right, past the end, plant it and continue on wards for a little secret.

I walked into the first bit of water where I had to wait for the ice, waited for 200 years expecting the other side to get eroded enough to walk up. This is why no one relies on me for time sensitive tasks.

So I went to the far right of the map and found this "Here lies a traveler between worlds, whose name is unknown. May his curious soul find a way home, like you have found his resting place.", who is this traveler?
