Fun, but the controls were very hard to use, especially the jump. I found myself dying a lot because a certain toby couldn't jump after hookshotting for at least a second, enough time for the bricks to crumble and fall to my demise. Excellent game idea, fun and addictive, though it could benefit from more crisp controls.

My biggest problem is that jump is virtually useless because of how little power it has. Upgrades would take care of this. 3/5

Amazng, a game that utilizes skill instead of repsawning with god knows what power up. Chaining combos of grappaling is the bes part, the other playwers ont move though...

Neat game, but maybe make it a little bigger, as in zoom in. I think you should remove the grayed out blocks too, as the game size combined w/ my focus on climbing made me die quite a few times just from not noticing. Also, make the controls a little tighter. You slide around just a bit, which can make things much tougher than they should be.

Ok, yeah, despite my little rant earlier, this game is fun, AND it does manage to hook me in a way very few arcade games have. I'm not too keen on the way Tobe skids when changing direction, but it is hardly noticeable once you get into it. A solid 4.

flamewolf33: I play the game long enough to assure you, that the problem is not in random generator. There is always a way to go up without any bonuses, although these ways are not obvious sometimes and it needs few replays to understand the behaviour of hookshot and in one or two cases also a bit of planning and thinking.

guildys: Before you say something like that again at least check some facts. Diamond Hollow is a Ludum Dare 20 game, i.e. game done in under 48 hours approx month ago, while TobeHS is older project dating back to December 2010 when SecretBase announced this game on facebook.
And despite that, the mechanics and feel are different.
Diamond Hollow is less about skill and more about upgrades (at least from the beginning of the game).
TobeHS is based purely on players skill with minimum of upgrades - only the three types of bonuses are available - you can't compensate lack of skill with upgrades, thus this game is initially quite hard, if you're not into these infinite Canabalt-like games.

This is perhaps a criticism of the genre, but while endless climb works great as an arcade mode, I'm much more interested in playing this games that I can, at least theoretically, beat. If I am forced to play an "endless" game, I prefer it gives me a chance to bow out when I hit my limit with some dignity intact, like "Tower of Greed". To me, there is little joy in playing a game that I am guaranteed to lose, less so when I stand with nothing to gain other than perhaps taking slightly longer to fail next time around. On a slightly different note, a suggestion: Replace the arbitrary "screen edge of death" with something that makes sense. Like the hole filling up with lava.

Isn't this a shameful copy of Diamond Hollow, the game that was realeased by arkeus a few days ago? without the shop and with nicer graphics. But some money making objectives this time.

Im currently Lmfao because of all the people who say "The controls are very hard!" What game are you used to playing on Kongregate?

Your random generator needs some serious work, about half the time it makes a spot near the bottom of the level that cannot be gotten past because the length of the hook is too short to get anywhere.

A good game, but a tough challenge. Your low score probably hasn't been helped by all the crybabies voting 1/5.
Having said that, it just needs something extra to make it a classic. Maybe upgrades or special challenge levels?

Excellent graphics, nice soundtrack, and the gameplay is solid, and like Lugalid was saying, it would be nice to have an upgrade perhaps for jump height and hookshot length, other than that great game, 4/5 for now :)

It's a good game, but these days players care more for improving through upgrades than improving through skill. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing the game doesn't have upgrades - just bear in mind it will be far more popular with them.

If you play "endless" games like Tower of Greed or Diamond Hollow then there is a great chance you'll find this game interesting too. I like the hookshot idea and it's quite fun going for more achievements and the highscore. More upgrades would be nice, in some situations I wished the existing ones would last a bit longer. Music is ok, not really a catchy tune but not annoying either. Funny idea with the corpses, that's an original idea for a "personal highscore list" ;) 4Stars

Love the game. It takes a bit to get used to but it's worth giving it a second try. And then a third. And then a fourth. and then a fifth and sixth.

Some of us want an end, and levels. High scores mean nothing to a guy like me! maybe a story mode... Great gameplay though :)

Very awesome pick-up-and-play game. Simple, addictive soundtrack, and plenty of replay value. Very solid climber game! Oh, and Link wants his hookshot back or he's going to sick Navi on you. HEY! LISTEN!

Stop complaining all the time, edydy -_-
Nice game, like the upgrades you can get while playing and in game achievements!

edydy: It was changed during the development, it's actually 200m for "Explorer" and 400m for "Vertical Adventure" achievement.
