Description

Inspired by a 19th Century novella, Flatland: Fallen Angle is the noir-esque tale of an isosceles triangle on the run from the law and hungry for revenge! Over ten astonishingly two-dimensional levels, the player must negotiate the various neighbourhoods of Polygonometropolis, and use their angles to slice, splinch and shatter anyone who gets in their way! The gameplay feels a little bit like Pacman, and the narrative approach is reminiscent of Bastion—but it all adds up to an absolutely unique short-form game experience!

How to Play

Arrows to move, mouse to aim, spacebar to dash.

Before I had a chance to appreciate a showdown, the boss died smashing himself on my broken ass.

You could really explore Abbott's Flatland concept by adding a "first person" mode.

We actually talked about that, but figured it'd mostly just make it annoying and horribly difficult. The game was designed to be a pretty small project, so anything like that got shelved. Maybe if we do a sequel... :P

Great story, well narrated, awesome music and a very interesting combat mechanic. Being small and pointy is pretty much ideal. At one point the enemies cut me up pretty badly. I was essentially only my heart and a line. Even triangles - the toughest enemies in the game - killed themselves when they tried to chase me down. They killed themselves on my ARSE!!! My behind is a deadly weapon. HELL YEAH!!!
By the way, what is the novel called?

The original novel was called "Flatland: A romance of many dimensions". It was written by Edwin A. Abbott in 1884.
