When you get to the point where you level off to hunt for giant diamonds, it's helpful to go left. Your instruments block a bit of your view on the right side of the screen (but on the left side be careful not to click the Kongregate logo - it'll open another tab/window)

Tip list for the hard badge:
1) go almost straight down first 2-4 days (some wiggle room for extra coins)
2)focus on hull strength, fuel tanks and drill strength
3) get one booster early, get mech mole whenever possible
4) Do not get over rank 5 of steering
5) Ignore achievements until very end; you can get most of them in the same day if you're fully upgraded, or all of them on the last day if you're a cheater.
6) you need $134,000+tax+all achievements to get the hard badge. This should come out to a minimum of $136,246.

In case anyone gets too deep before reaching the medium badge... at about 1800 feet, just turn left or right (as in, do a hard 90% degree, and don't go any lower). Pressure won't increase, and with max fuel and mole it should be doable.

money subtracted = (money you have>300,000) - amount of money it takes to piss you off

Why is the ticket worth more than 6 giant diamonds? And how in the hell a diamond with the size of a tree is worth just 750? O.o

This game is great. But, the medium badge is ridiculous because if you don't get it on the first attempt, you have to play it all over to be able to get that deep.

Finally got the hard badge! If anyone is wondering about the dollar amounts assigned for the trophies, here are the totals for each category. Collect Trophies (top row) = $102,000 / Depth Trophies (bottom row) = $64000. I think the two biggest depth trophies, along with the big/small diamond collect trophies, are pretty important for pushing your total up. FYI: I got the badge w/ $309k post-tax, and I had all of the trophies.

I think the reason why you only get one day a week to work is because the other six are spent getting the drill out of the ground.
