for those of you complaining about the hat problem.
there is a spell call "shield," which will let you get hit once without loosing your hat, when you loose your shield, just make another one.
duh :P

hm well. cool idead. but fighting sucks in this game, you have to dodge bullets by jumping with lightning or fire thats a pain in the ass

Great game. The system of having more than one challenge for each level really adds depth and replay value. You get to know each level without it getting repetitive. Each level is huge, too, giving lots to explore.

@LivingEndGame: I beat the original without getting damaged in all the levels and I don't like the health system ;) It's too unforgiving to people who aren't skilled at dodging. And it really sucks when you get trapped in a mob.

Loved the first, loving this one. Seems to be a bit of lag issue with 5+ bonethrowers on screen though. :) Don't let the wussies who can't get their hat back get ya down!

I dunno, I understand that having no jump button is a part of the gameplay, but the fact that the most useful spells you've got will either create too much knockback to be accurate, or waste too much magic too fast to be effective. For the knockback problem, I suggest maybe a button which you could hold while casting a spell intended to propel you upward so you can choose when to use it offensively or as a means of transportation. An in-game map would be much more useful than having to resort to an external link. The game lags quite a bit, even on low settings. But what really turned me away from the game was the lack of a proper health system. When you mix massive levels that are hard to navigate through with your only means of survival being an overly easy-to-remove hat you end up having to stop whatever you're doing, look for that hat, pray no enemy gets in your way (and they usually will.) and then go back to doing what your doing which makes things drag on. Alot.

4th to beat the game. 2nd to finish all the quests.
Fun game. I would have liked to have gotten more use out of the non-lightning skills, but there wasn't really any good alternatives when it came to damage. Still, a very enjoyable way to kill an afternoon.

Er. On second though. The first was the better of the two.
The camera view is too disorienting, and the lack of even a static map like in the original makes the game too hit-or-miss. At this point it's a (2/5). I'll give it more time though =/

As a fan of all the Hey wizard games, I understand that having no jump button isn't lazyness, it's a KEY PART OF THE GAMEPLAY. Awesome game. Kinda prefer the "put points into each power" over the "level per use" system, but still 5/5

dimblenut: regarding the confusion in the levels, use the "Q-compass" and "around the wall" rule ;) and you'll get the goal with no problem.

Great game with nice combined uncommon ideas. 5/5 for great fun.
an alien: with shield it is "3 bullets dead" and if you let the shield spell permanently in the slot, you can just quickly cast it after being hit. I died just once during the whole game. In second level use the shield immediately and quickly switch to flame and fly away.
Used slots: shield(permanently after getting 2nd slot), flame(permanently), house of lightning.

excellent game, i have no problem without jumping key, just use your afterburner, you have to fly around a lot, anyway. use the summon spell to create helpers, that make it much easier. when you got the shield-spell, use it, than change the spell slot, shield will be still active.

the most frustrating part is the "2 bullets dead". not being able to jump doesn't help. 1/5. i can't even pass the 2nd level! i am in such a closed space that when i try to get out a bullet hits me! >:(

Flagged all of the "Xth" comments. As for the game, I think not having a jump button at all is pretty frustrating. I'm sitting 1 centimeter off from something I should catch, but since it's somewhere I can glide off from, it's very hard to accurately set myself upon it.

Fun and creative game. I really enjoyed my time playing this. My only suggestion is that you add the feature to do a small jump without using a spell. Sometimes using a spell is more of an annoyance then an interesting controlling option. 4/5, and favorite'd.
