Under rating threshold (show) Very interesting game. I like this version of cryptogram since it shows me what is and isn't right as I go along. I am not very good at cryptograms usually so I appreciate the help, also this has a really good story in it too.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was very happy with the amount of feedback I was able to give the player while they were doing the puzzles. Thanks for playing!

Under rating threshold (show) Interesting enough narrative and nice game mechanic. This makes a very pleasant change from some of the pointless, noisy platformers uploaded to Kong on a daily basis. I've enjoyed using my word-recognition and puzzle-solving skills here. Good one!

Under rating threshold (show) Albeit simple, I liked the idea behind it, as well as the content. Besides, I liked what you did with the alphabet for the passages, I almost didn't catch it. =]

Under rating threshold (show) This is a pretty unique form of game based story telling. I've only ever played this one and I've enjoyed it quite a lot. Reminds me of my life. LOL! I wanna be able to replay it though, but that option doesn't seem to be available. This is my only complaint...

Under rating threshold (show) I'm seeing familiar words after the cypher on some pages are complete, like 'KRIZON', 'ADVENT', 'FALGHER', 'WATCHES', 'TOWERING', 'DEATH', 'GRAVES', 'MAN DOUBTS'. Was it designed on purpose?

Under rating threshold (show) The words are, in this order: Krizon, Advent, Falhger, Krizon, Watches, Towering, Sick, Death, Graves, Man, Doubts, Mendik, Skeptical, Betraying, Sky, Krizon, Death, No, Light, Dark, Mourned, Named, Suto, Touch, Sky, Aspire, Towering, Powerful. They can't all be a coincidence. Does it mean something?

Under rating threshold (show) I really enjoyed the game. One small thing though, I preferred using the keyboard to input letters to switch, but once I clicked into the chat to talk and then tried clicking back into the game, the keyboard controls no longer worked. I can still play by clicking the letters, but I'd prefer it if I was able to go back to keyboard.

Under rating threshold (show) Interesting. I suggest having a hard mode, where all the letters are jumbled, but it tells you how many of each there are, and it doesn't tell you which are right.

Under rating threshold (show) I love cryptograms! One suggestion: Perhaps you'd consider making a "hard" mode where the letters don't let you know when they're in the right place? As it is now, you can win from trial and error alone

Under rating threshold (show) Awesome game and story! I think the simplicity is perfect for it, animations and such aren't necessarily needed. An idea for the next one: To feel more like we're actually decoding an alien language, swapping out symbols for letters instead of letters for other letters might be neat. But it was really fun as is too!

+ - !

(15)

Developer response from StuStutheBloo

Thanks! That could definitely be interesting, and it would look more like actually translating alien text. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Under rating threshold (show) In Ascent number 5, J and Q can be reversed, and the passage will still be readable, but the game won't let you continue onwards until you reverse them. There are probably other levels like that too, this is just the only one I stumbled across. Not a huge hassle, but if you can think of a way to fix that, it would make the narrative make a little more sense. Why should a translator have to translate letters that aren't there? It's a little silly. Still a cool game though, and a cool story! :)j

Under rating threshold (show) I once had a decypher game called "Native language". It showed pictogams of few words of tribal language and you had to guess what the next, bigger message means. Like if "waves" mean "water", then 2 waves is "river". Then you had to compose a message, like "tribe of the Bear lives near the river" - 3 huts + bear + 2 waves
