@Walrusgs You can only ride vehicles. So to go as fast as horses allow, you need enough vehicles for yourself and all of your men.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Horses, 15km/h, but I can't seem to figure out a way to ride them, so I'm stuck at my walking speed of 6 km/h. Anyone know how this works?

can't read the directions on the map - text is white on a light background. So then you get out into the desert with nothing but unexplained moving circles and ... they attack you and you are dead. Game over.
I don't think I'll bother starting from the beginning a second time.

It could help if the game could tell when a player hasn't gone through the tutorial page first, just to anviliciously let them know about important considerations they should make before going on their first route. Food and water!! I forgot about those and max'd out on leather my first try. Before I knew it, i was stuck with no sustenance in the desert. Bad move on my part, I restarted and made a new character and made SURE I got provisions down first. Profits can come after I make sure I'll make it to the next town. First, I needed to make sure I could survive the desert.

I have to say, this game does not do much to teach the player how to play. Just menus and a back story, that's it. Can't say I'd recommend this to anyone.

Oh - to add insult to injury, I just noticed my Achievement progress after this more "successful" attempt: $7098 / 10,000. Probably would have gotten the badge if the RNG didn't come up with a 6 bandit party.

Problems with game: The storyline says don't go beyond Drushlack, leading one to believe it is safe down in this corner of the desert. Not true - encounters are totally random and pretty much unavoidable unless you get a vehicle - impossible without going beyong Drushlack. Sure, you could hire more men but the random encounters will overpower you at some point - its just a matter of when, not how. Food, forage, water - pretty simple to get around. Maybe I'm missing some key strategy like hiring a partner and hiding behind the cart to limit attack spots to 2? If that is the case, the game goes from a "random death" nightmare, to a randomly boring game. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A SEQUEL TO THIS.

Attempt 2 - Day 1: Buy cart, 10 food, 10 forage, 10 water, 50 ammo, rest on leather. Leave for Caganel (258 degree course). Ambushed 3 times, won. Sold leather, buy shoes, heal, more food, forage. Leave for Drushlack. Ambushed 3 times, won. Sold shoes, heal, more food, forage. Leave for PosaCosa. Ambushed 2 times, second time by 6 men. DIED. This game still sucks. Fun factor about 1/2 star. WAY TOO RANDOM.

Day 1: Buy cart, 3 food, 3 forage, 3 water, rest on leather. Leave for Caganel (258 degree course). Ambushed 30 seconds later. killed 1 robber, but killed by 3 more robbers. Game over. This game sucks. Bye.

LOVE this game. Played the beta of v2 for weeks now; love it as well, but needs more story content to go with the larger map. Looking forward to the final version!

First i bought too much stuff to travel, then i had to throw stuff to continue to travel, and finally i died without explanation. It doesn't sound the right way to keep new players... Sorry but it's a 1 star...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I won't say it is one star bad, but it was close. The game lacked a lot of refinements that might have made it better. It's steep learning curve did not help either. What you had to learn to survive was not explained enough in my mind. 2 stars.

Actually it's quite realistic game. If you don't prepare yourself for three days desert journey, you will starve and DIE. Game over, no autosave, no rollback, yes, you DIED. No help, no gas station. Just desert and you. And no food.

I don't know why is there so much hate for this game, It's a extremely excellent game, The learning curve is a big pain but when you finally get it, It's a very very VERY great game but with a very very VERY long learning curve but trust me. It's good

i agree with oracle4 this game is less than boring and i'd rather bash my fingers with a hammer than play this anymore.

Merdin, Caganel e Smerd? Lol? :D
(for those who do not know Italian language, presumably the language in which these words are written, they mean all 'shit' or 'little shit') :|

This is actually one of the hands-down worst games I've ever played. Screw this badge of the day, it's not worth the mind-numbing tedium of slogging through this lukewarm pile of crap.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Actually not that hard to get the badge- Just Poca-Caganel-Drushlak-Poca-Caganel did it for me. Just pay attention to have enough water, food, forage and ammo. My only problem was to find the save button.

Simplest Medium badge ever.
1. Talk to the sheriff to gain your inheritance $1000.
2. Buy 10 food, 20 forage, Buy a Jerry Can and fill it with 20 water.
3. Buy a Donkey + smallest cart. Attach them.
4. Buy as much leather as possible.
5. Go to Cagane, which is the nearest town.
6. Sell all the leather and buy shoes, proceed back to starting town.
7. Rinse and repeat. The whole thing doesn't take more than 2 runs.

@Kosh67 For a level 40 User, what a noob you are, Yeah I know this game is hard and unforgiving and it probably sucks if you don't know what to do but for me this game is pure excellence, All you have to do is learn and be patient since it's like real business that it's slowly and slowly gaining profit

OK, I tried it... first game... read through ALL the TL;DR stuff at the beginning, get to town, jabber with the sheriff, find out where to buy the leather, try to buy 100, won't let me, hit max, OK, got it... You're overweight! You can't leave town until you lose x kg! EXCUSE ME??? YOU'RE the one who said I can buy that amount! OK, fine, whatever... go back to market, sell 2 leather, check map, measure angle and distance to Cagamel, get on my way, half way there, You're overwight! Throw something away! WTF? OK, fine, toss 1 leather... half way again, You're overweight! Throw something away! OK, fine, toss another leather... Go half of the remainder again, Cagamel FINALLY in sight and GAME OVER YOU'RE DEAD Wow... you'd think that the game would AT LEAST let you get to the first city before it kills you off from starvation. Also, instead of forcing us to measure angles and distances, let us just click on the city and be done with it! 1/5... I'm NEVER playing this crap again!
