This game to me is poorly made, keep getting over ran from bandits in the begin. 5+ encounters gets stupid and not be able to flee. groups from 2-4 bandits. 3 groups at once is total stupid. On the map you need something to show where you are at. I got lost, ended up at the bottom of the map with endless groups of bandits came after me. At least in Fallout games you can run away and pick what fights you want to do.

sometimes the game IS buggy. If it thinks you started out Poca Cosa with too much advantage it may give fifteen armed robbers. I've died before from none of the criteria flameroran77 supplied. but ty. This is one of the best free flash game concepts out there. It can easily be done better. Better than Caravaneer 2. Yeah. Thats right. I said it.

Anyone who needs help with this game should look up the "Slightly Unofficial Guide To Caravaneer". It's the best guide I know of out there.

@Urdonar: Actually, your horses are carrying all your crap. You aren't riding them. You're going at about 5 kilometers per hour, because you're on foot, and your horses are loaded with all the cargo. The only time you'll be going faster than that is when you get gas-powered vehicles.

I love the concept, but I'm really turned off after finding that spending all of my money on a horse still does not allow me to outrun the goddamned ninjas. Fighting is a chore this early on, and it's not as if the little dorks seem to actually have any money on them or anything. Not here, at any rate. I came here to do business, not fight ninjas. Ninjas that run faster than horses.

Oscaleb, you either starved to death, died of dehydration, or died of wounds. Starving and dehydration are pretty self-explanatory, wounds means your health went low enough to be considered "gravely wounded". If you're gravely wounded, you need to get some medicine, or see a doctor. Otherwise, your health will slowly decrease until you just drop dead.

What the hell? I nearly got to Caganel without any robbers showing up, and when I was just about to get there, the 'YOU ARE DEAD' screen showed up.

I recommend playing caravaneer 2, here I end up with lots of stuff I can't sell anywhere, no pause to save so water and forage depletes for no reason, even while planning the angle to walk the route, lots of things that are improved in #2. I'm sorry to say this because I really enjoyed #2 and wanted to play this regardless, but now even the beginner's route only costs me money because the economy of the towns has changed...I want to play for fun, not to learn about the hardships of life...

This game is entirely based off luck. I feel like it just sort of throws you in and yells "figure it out" The tutorial tells you to buy leather and to "make sure you have enough food and water" but tells you nothing about how much you need. Hint: The bottles it gives you are not enough.

So I assault a robber bunker, and I blow it up, but I manage to get my main character critically wounded. Hey, I'd never tried to crack a bunker before! Immediately groups of robbers start swarming like mosquitoes and attacking constantly. "Hey guys, I don't think they're happy about what we just did!" I thought, I can do this, just fight through 100 km to the nearest doctor and I can save my character. 10-20 fights later without losing a single additional hitpoint from my main character, she spawned in a fight 30 meters from the Jeeps. An enemy grenade and a machine gun burst and it was over. The town was in sight too.

The fastest way to get started -- get only the lightest cart, head to Caganel. Load up on shoes. Make dangerous route to Verdammter Plaz. Takes a few tries to get there without dying to robbers, but if you can, sell all your shoes. Then go to Diep Gat and buy all Medicine. Go back to VP and sell it all. Sell donkey, gun, everything. Should have about 5.5K, buy an ATV and gas. Jetty your way up to the capitol. Go to Fort Goks, buy medicine, sell in Qubba. Repeat 3-4 times, suddenly you have $10K. Then sell your ATV and buy the Raptor. Now you go to Sekhir Bashka and Abu Kirdyk and buy gold, then sell it back in Qubba. Wait around for a few minutes, and now Qubba will have 400 pieces of Jewelery. Buy as much as you can, sell it in the neighboring 4 towns. You will easily get to 1 Million dollars within 45 minutes of starting the game.

i left the starting 3 cities with 3 horses and carts once i hit about $10000 and havent seen another animal, cart, or vehicle for sale since and havent seen a vehicle in combat even. Somethings broken in the programming or overlooked at least
