Hans might have had better luck if he'd learned her name instead of calling her "cheerleader". Chicks dig it when you learn their name.

Interesting game, for sure. But I think I got a *much* more morbid message from this game. Hans is feeling dejected by his unpopularity. He dreams about making everyone equal in every form, he shrinks down. But he knows that can't happen, he begins to grow again. And then things got strange - he fights and defeats himself [Loss of hope]. And then he imagines himself flying...and jump off of a building [Action]. And then he is flashbacked to a black-and-white scene where you are shunned, again, by the girl you think you love. [Motive] My first thought went to, "Jesus, I think this kid just committed suicide."
Anyone else?

When a flying castle can't hold your dreams, the obvious thing to do is freefall out of it, drop 5000 feet into the schoolyard, then nonchalantly walk up to that hot girl you like and pretend you really don't care about her since you've learned to dream bigger. ....She doesn't care because you're still ugly. Great effort at a thoughtful game, even if the story is a bit odd. 4 stars.

It might have went better if he made the machine make her fall in love with him instead of making everyone smaller. It could make all his wishes come true

This felt like a cross between a suicide note and a 16 year old's depressed poetry. The entire theme felt morbid, especially the ending. My only thought was, "Did this kid just commit suicide?"
Well programmed, moderately fun, but ... wow.

Great experience. It's not always easy to put your personal problems in a game like this and show us, where the exit from all the pain and suffering is. Your game is great. You exactly hit the feelings that many of us had in their life. In other games you feel forced to do the experience, mostly it's an experience only few people had. Everyone had a crush & the first time to ask her out is the hardest part. You don't try it at first, you imagine! Imagine how the life could be if the "impossible" happens. In the teenager years the people behave like the girl. The students haven't learn that other people have feelings. There's so much information and feelings in your game not only the feeling of rejected love. It's a nice process of Hans' personality. Learning that HIS utopia, isn't the one of everyone. His will to break free from his castle. That an utopia isn't wonderful at all. Everything in life needs love and work to be nice! I really love your game and hope you read this review!
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed the game! If somebody would ask me what the game is about, I would simply answer "it's about growing up."
To quote the wonderful Jon Blow: "let me take my deepest flaws and vulnerabilities and put them in the game and let’s see what happens."
It's hard to deal but much more satisfying this way :) thank you for your comment.

If he could build a machine that would make everyone the same... wouldn't it be simpler to make a machine to make him attractive? Great game! 5/5

I want to say you chose the name Hans because of the Simpsons. :) Great combination of a platformer/interesting graphics/good music/meaningful storyline! 4/5 from me.

The arguements in this play are kinda interesting.....The exclusion from the society and the reject from people we love because of physical appearences, the utopic dream of a society where we're all equal, the desire to be different between each other and not to lose our identity, the desire to be "great", overtake the other ones....but actually....At the end, thid the boy suicide ?

I'm sorry but the instruction "explore yourself" made me think I had to pillage my dead body.../:
the "EXPLORE YOURSELF" in a "dating game is just so wrong

I definitely think you made a nice story about the pains of growing up as a unpopular kid. As much as we desire to even things out, we always have to face facts that to do that, we have to make ourselves better. Pretty solid platforming and I liked how the graphics progressed as well. 5/5

Oh, when Hans said he wanted to make everyone look the same, I thought he was going to use a knife to take their faces off.

Cute. I was sure that the 2-pixel cheerleader was going to turn out to be the dumpy but sweet girl, or maybe a dog. Some nice puzzles.

how did she easily make the machine go "backwards"?? He lost it several times and she was a pro. :/ still a great game 4/5

Obviously I'm not skillful enough, because I couldn't pass the 2-pixel-sequence. Until then it was an interesting gameplay experience.

An honest comment, you didn't really show well enough why Hanz got sick of the cheerleader. You even implied she was somehow annoying him right when he finally won her heart. But then later she was the one that got sick of him and wanted everything back to the way they were. I know your story is meant to have a deep, positive overall meaning, but that part didn't really make sense to me and with it not making sense, I don't feel it properly gets your point across.
My point was more like, there are people like Hans, who can adapt to their relationship conditions even if their relationship is not that good. But if a relationship is not that good, you end up getting dump anyway. This is the reason why I didn't use a decent drama curve.

It's nice to know a game like this exists, but I couldn't understand any of the characters' motives at all. I think I might have gone straight to the apathy pipe in the warp zone myself. Or the narcissism one. Well done though, the metaphors all seemed effective to me.
Thanks a lot for playing! Yeah, it might be a little complicated since I wasn't really sure what to make out of Hans' actions. When I was getting into puberty stuff, I kinda thought the way Hans did. That's why I made the game. And with this game, I tried to find answers for my thoughts/actions. If you wanna read more blabber about it, click on "Extras" on the menu.
Thanks a lot for playing! Players like you are one of the reasons I want to make more games.
