it's not that much a philosophical game, but it's a really nice adaptation of Orpheous and Eurydice's Myth. I had to get her ghost to realize this was the myth and that the final boss is Hades :I

The bosses are perhaps a bit too difficult. (Philosophical games can't be appreciated as well if their difficulty scares away half the audience before they can see the whole story.) But the game is otherwise brilliant. 4/5

That awful moment when you jump *just* as a bullet is fired.. and you just so happen to be headed for the same spot...

To kill hades (and actually for most puzzles) it seems that the longer you wait, the lower your chance of survival. So if you get to Hades, try and kill him as fast as you can. I think it helps to not touch the ground if possible, but I'll let you figure out that part ;)
I didn't particularly like the controls as I found the character's 'response' a little frustrating. I enjoyed the music and I quite liked Cerebus :p Most of all I like that you can't really "die" (but I also won't spoil the ending for new players). But, the multi-limbed creature was slightly annoying until I understood how it worked.
I think persistence in finishing the game actually helped me enjoy it a bit more than I would have if I gave up - I do like a manageable challenge ;p
Overall, a lovely game, so thank you (:

adding upon r2d2go's guide do not climb back up imediatly after shooting the big demon in the face he will shoot a fire ball at the first platform everytime and if your standing there it is almost undodgeable

Ok, Here's a Real review: This Game sucks because the controls are extremely non-responsive, yet you die in one hit, and the monsters are relentless, so while you can't turn and shoot or jump, or do Anything smoothly or when you mash the buttons, the monsters are able to flip around and be all crazy.

Wow, this is a great game! I love the basic graphics, and the sybolism! Very much enjoyed it, hope to see what you do next:)

Oh, man, this game blew my mind. I didn't understand why it was called "Don't Look Back" until I defeated the big boss and realized it was the tale of Orpheus. Smooth gameplay, awesome pixel graphics, haunting ending, and a really satisfyingly hard challenge, to boot.
